    Utah resorts to Jackson

    Hi
Planing a roadtrip Sweden > Jackson Hole in late december, plan to land in Salt Lake City just before christmas.
What resorts are NOT to be missed in the Utah area if we are looking for good freeriding and hike's? 1 snowboard in the team so Alta is off limits I guess.

    thanks

This is by no means a big resort, but if you want to check out a smaller area that is cheap and, if there is good snow, can be a blast - Pebble Creek Ski Area outside of Pocatello, Idaho (off of I-15). Also be sure to hit a day at Grand Targhee when in JH.

As mentioned above the only one I personally believe is worth the trip is Grand Targhee....Snow King is "fun" i guess and right in town so why not if you got a day...

I would start in SLC hit Snowbird, then 'Basin & Powder Mtn, theny on your way to JH driving on I-15 from SLC to JH, hit Grand Targhee, then go to Jackson Hole. That is the best way for a road trip to hit all the key resorts

And, if you are driving through Pocatello at chow time, be sure to stop at a restaurant called "Butterburr's".

Thanks for the tip. What's up with the anti-snowboard attitude at alta?

    It's not anti-snowboard, it's just not allowed.

No pain at all, you just can't ride the lift back up.

Don't forget 'Buddy's' for great homestyle Italian!
Or Lucatelli Cafe in Victor for simple awesome fresh, innovative Italian.

snowboarders would hate Alta anyways, it's all about traversing

Ditch your buddy and hit Alta for a day, he can stay at the bird which is connected.

Good luck at x-mas time...it's not busy at all

Powder mountian and ride the Cat for $8, totally worth it, or hike it for free!

Oh yeah....4 wheel drive or you won't make it up the canyons on powder days! Chains or 4 X 4 only, canyons are restricted.

Jackson to SLC is about 4.5 hours with good weather...use the force if it's storming.

Seriously, I think that any snowboarder would hate it!

The High-T sucks sooo bad, but we end up using it and tear the shi out of our boards.

The bird, the basin, powder, targee and on to j-hole. Sounds sweet!
