Just thinking about what I could bring and decided I'll grab two dozen bagels or so from the good jewish deli underneath my apartment for morning-after hangovers and to make bacon egg & cheeses

Since when is driving from Burlington to Ludlow considered a "Road Trip"?
    You Vermonters are getting soft!
And that is not a good thing!

    Oh Steve, Both!

    Yes, new people are welcome!

Bring used skis we can cut, bacon, and your sense of humor.

Oh, and a clownsuit, a crowbar, and some axle grease wouldn't hurt either...

Absolutely true! Unless you are a bad driver, or he gets skunked fishing.

I vote for salt and everything bagels.

**We need to start making a decision on what type of bike ride we will be taking that weekend**

If we mountain bike, some people will need to rent. It may be the same for road biking, or we may lose some people who wanted to mountain bike. I am game for either road or mountain biking so Bluebird and I will do whatever everyone else wants to do. Seeing as I can't figure out how to post a poll thread, let's just do it here.

Maggots & Maggettes cast your vote for the type of ride you would like to go on and where.

My vote would be for road biking, simply because I don't have a mountain bike. But my vote shouldn't count.. since even if I do make it up to the party in time for the bike ride, I probably won't feel up to more exercise than I'll get that morning.

But consider that while mountain bikes can go on roads, road bikes CAN'T go on mountains. or something.

    Thanks.
Sprite, I'll probably email you later today to get the evite. I'm unsure how that weekend is going to pan out as I already have an engagement Sunday night in Philly, but we shall see. Oh, and my vote is for XC, but I'll be bringing skis with high hopes if I do come.

I vote road cuz that's what I have, but wouldn't minding renting mtn bike if necessary. what time did you guys want to leave to ride on sat? I vote we do something long, hard, and hilly to compensate for all the beer we'll be drinking later... 70 miles? 80 miles?

edit to add that the mathematician has neither road nor mtn bike, so he's gonna have to rent or borrow

Hey there smart ass! Remember, this is VT not NYC and we actually have mountains and hills to climb here. Can you keep up???

If we do 70-80 I cannot drink beer in between so no stop at the Long Trail Brewery. On the other hand, a ~17 mile ride to the brewery, a few beers and ~17 miles back to Casa de Snowsprite I can handle.

    Current Votes:

    Mountain ride - 2

    Road ride - 2

Let's get some more votes here people....

I actually have an ultimate tournament that day. They changed the date too a week earlier than normal unfortunately cause I was hoping to go and maybe bring people hiking at nearbye white rocks. We took Bucket there on saturday and he loved it, lots of fun bouldering. Bucket and I actually drove bye your place and we considered stopping there. Was that your jeep in the driveway?

Soul_Skier and myself are heading down from Burlington Saturday morning....I don't know if he has reserved any other seats in my car yet, but if not there would be 2 available, one spot for a bike,(depending on if we bring ours).

hey we have hills here, too yaknow, they're just over the GWB in rockland county!

how is the ride to long trail? is it nice? scenic and all that warm fuzzy intangitive stuff? I'd be down for that... any maybe could tack on a longer side trip or something if anyone wants to do a longer ride... just a thought
