For the record, not all of us are "old". I am Turning 27 on the 22nd, but 27 is the new 21 didn't ya know?

Train - thanks buddy! Old skis are to be used for building things, not burning.

As for the ride, I am in for whatever the collective decides. I have a bike for every occasion so, bring it on.

Mister SheSkisTrees has ski patrol refresher that weekend, but I might be able to get down there. I won't know until we're a bit closer to the date. Believe it or not, if that's the weekend I have to get fresh-pressed cider for the annual hard cider batch, that could throw a bit of a wrench into plans...though maybe I'll head down after getting the cider. I know, thinking aloud here. Sorry. Anyway, I'll let you know. Since my mountain bike is STILL in need of repairs, I don't mind missing that part of the celebration anyway.

As for old, yah, you might consider me old. I'm 43 and PROUD OF IT! After all, 43 is the new 30...

The mathematician and I will be there after staying in a b&b somewhere in southern vt on friday night (checking out a few now), and we are down for a road ride or mtn bike ride sat... Bluebird suggested maybe a road ride to Long Trail brewery which could be a cool "tribute to Nils" kind of thing...

also think the ski chair for the Nissens is an awesome idea.

Terri, thank you so much for planning and hosting this! Anyone who is on the fence about coming should absolutely try and get there last year was a great time.

ps- can i request not as many kzone dorks this year please?

You probably can fix it, but that would require an outlay of cash for parts that I can't afford right now. And even if I could afford to fix it, I cannot keep up with ANY of you! On skis, I can hold my own, on a bike, I am a real slowpoke.

I'm thinking of coming up this year and since I don't trust any ski shops on the Connecticut shoreline... I'm going to bring up my skis to be repaired. I have a core shot that needs fixin'... (and a base grind...). Does anyone have any recommendations for ski shops in Ludlow for something like this? Northern Ski Works? I would normally get this done at Basin up in Killington... but that's an extra 45 minutes.

Startingate near the entrance to stratton - in bondville. They do all the work on my boards and most of the racers in that area.

Stymie, no love for Action Sports? Can’t say I blame you. Bluebird can recommend you a shop. He helped me out last season. I can’t think of the name of the place, but it’s in Ludlow.

Any chance you’ll be bringing your avatar to this event?

Action Sports, huh? I go there to look for good deals on skiwear only. Not sure I would trust them with the skis.

As far as Stratton... a bit out of the way. Hoping to drop off the skis on Sat and pick them up on my way out. Nothing in Ludlow?

Hence the “can’t say I blame you”. Action Sports blows. I just looked up online & I’m 99% sure this is the place.

Totem Pole Ski Shop 802-228-8447. Right in Ludlow.
