So last weekend, after rehabbing it hard, I decided to stress test my right knee a little in the form of some scuba and free diving.
Phone calls were made and a plan came together to spend a couple days in the islands west of Key West on a buddy's houseboat spearfishing and Lobster diving.
When driving through the Everglades, this place always makes me smile. Back in the day when the Post office burned down, one of the swamp pioneers donated his pump shack to be the Post office. They never replaced it with a different building.
It's so small you can't even go inside, you stand outside to do your business.
Another reason I like driving through the swamp is that there's hardly any traffic, pretty rare for Florida.

After the usual circus of getting fuel, groceries, rum and cigars together we finally left the dock. Heading through the harbor we passed the swank Sunset key.

The " Material girl's " house on Sunset key.
Sunset at the first night's anchorage.
Woman key looking east toward Key West.
Boca Grande key to the west.
Home for the next few days.
Leaving home
Phil the Jamaican is pretty core to ignore the fact that the lobster has one of his hooks in his eye.
On the move the next day
I'm always dismayed at the amount of gear it takes to scuba dive, it's like being a friggin astronaut.
Before= organized
After=chaos
We were going to do a night dive but the lightning in this squall heading our way made us decide to head back to the houseboat and grill some fish and lobster on the back deck instead.
