In light of a few recent posts from "retard mountaineers" in here, maybe this can finally be a mountaineering thread in the summit forum that is not by retards, for retards.
Seeing as every summit is at a resort(and I hate resorts), and seeing the overwhelming popularity of skiing the 14ers last season, why not stage a get together for a large group 14er climb among the mags. I know its early, and we could never predict conditions this early in the season, and mountaineering is dictated by the weather at the time blah, blah, blah, but we can at least see if there is any interest in the idea and go from there.
If we wanna do this mid winter I vote for a route with an almost always stable ascent, such as Elbert, and plenty of options for mags to shred many different parts of the entire mountain. We could even do one tame mountain in the winter(such as Elbert or whatever anyone wants) and then in the spring when things stabilize a bit kick it up another notch and do a more serious mountain. What do you guys say? Maybe plan something tentatively for the 2nd or 3rd week of December and get a group winter descent in?
After we get some ideas of where people wanna go or not(in which case this thread will self destruct) I'll post a poll and we can see where we are at.
