    Talking CAW!!! CAW!!! CAWWW!!!!

HOLLLLEEEEE SHIATTT!!!!! Just got home from watching the finals of the KW comp and all I gotta say is freaking Mike Stevenson from Whistler is the motha fuggin MANG! He threw and STOMPED what I'm estimating to be a 80 - 100 ft. backflip off the top of Cirque....freaking crazy. I'm assuming he got the sickbird award. lph was shooting vid, but from so far away, it will probably just look like an ant freefalling or something.

Don't know the final results as I bailed right after, but I'm sure they'll be posted soon.

Shit, still on conditions like in the other vid? Not to day that an 80 ft backflip isn't impressive anyways, but damn...

Wowzer! 80 footer backflip to asphalt...that's fuckin' nutz. Can't wait to see that on FSN in May...

Edit: Ty, give us the red line on a picture of the Cirque for reference.

Well, Stevenson certainly "took off and landed"...but what I didn't mention was that he then proceeded to rip the schit out of the rest of the Cirque. Super smooth line in addition to the sick bird huck.

Those guys are good and all that, but I bet they haven't skied 65 degrees or dropped East Vail.

    Hardrider not kush

Sickest thing Ive ever seen in person. The announcers said "keep your eyes peeled we've been told hes going big right from the top." I thought he might ski to the top of the ridge and drop off which would have put him in danger of hitting rocks, lets just say he cleared the rocks by 70-80ft. He won the sickbird fo sho.

I still haven't heard or seen all the official results but word on the street that some Frenchi (can't remember his name....not Manu or Romaine) from Chamonix won everything and Stevenson did indeed get the sickbird award. Kirkwood skier Craig Garbiel jumped from 21st to 9th on his final run which was simply amazing.

    Roo -- giving up.

yes, some frenchie won, and second went to the dude from MT in his first comp ever - pretty impressive! manu got 5th, ian mchintosh got 4th, and i can't remember 2nd . . . i'm sure it will be posted soon!

watching that stuff was pretty impressive to say the least - we skied the cirque today and looked at a lot of the lines from below (permanently closed cirque has re-closed) - even more impressive up close.

It was Heim who tumbled through the rock band. He dislocated his shoulder and left part of his face on the rocks. His shoulder wouldn't pop back in, and about an hour and a half later and two hospitals, they finally got it back in by hanging weights off his arm. Ow.

Elijah Lee snapped his tib/fib above the boot after stomping a top entrance huck. He got carted off on a sled.

Mike Stevenson said landing that cliff was like landing in a mud pit...
