    Leaving Feedback on eBay...

Recently, I've had a number of buyers/sellers demand immediate feedback w/in one or two days of a transaction. Wtf?

I'll leave feedback when I leave feedback. If I don't end up leaving feedback, it's probably because I don't have anything good to say, but don't have a complaint sufficient to leave a negative (and neutral is generally perceived as a negative on ebay).

I also don't leave feedback until feedback has been left for me. Just cuz. I just had one guy tell me he does the same, and then demanded that I leave feedback promptly so he could leave feedback for me.

It's dumb, I tell you.... Dumb.

I normally feedback as soon as I get the goods (don't do a lot of selling) and if the seller hasn't left anything about 2 weeks after I left feedback I send them a friendly reminder that I'm trying to get my gold star and need their help.

I leave feedback after I get the item and have tested it to my satisfaction - no earlier.

Feedback shouldn't be given until the goods have been received. As a seller feedback CAN be left as soon as you receive payment but I think its best to wait and maker sure the buyer is happy.

    Don't be a bitch.

Leave feedback when the buyer pays for the item. Leave feedback when you receive and are satisfied with the item.

    Don't deal with stupid eBayers.

Therein lies the rub, tho. Many times you don't realise how dumb they are until after they've won your auction. Then you're kinda stuck.

But yeah - if the buyer pays promptly, you should leave + feedback ASAP.

My OP wasn't very well thought out, I was just expressing a general observation....

I don't leave feedback until the transaction is completely concluded. Bullshit on leaving feedback immediately upon prompt payment. It's probably this swing in ebay thinking that's gotten me so many "leave feedback now!" messages.

I still rarely leave feedback before I receive feedback, especially if the buyer/seller doesn't seem too bright.

I've only sold once or twice on Ebay (bought a lot), but I'd say a seller is justified in not leaving feedback until the item has been received by the buyer and there is an indication that all is OK. The transaction is not over from either parties' standpoint until that happens.
