In Honor of my friend, Nils

That was a beautiful tribute Courtney. I read it Friday and couldn't really even come up w/ anything to write. I met Nils once briefly, and talked w/ him on the phone another time, but unfortunately never got to know him very well. For this I'm deeply disappointed.

The loss that this community has suffered is heavy, and it will not be forgotten. But we should all take pride and the unyielding love that Nils had for this community, and this "grab life by the balls" lifestyle. Nils was proud, SO PROUD, to call himself a maggot. He truly loved this community, and cherished each and every friend he had here.

I was out mountain biking yesterday and thinking about all this, and what a big loss it is for not just us, but the world in general. For some reason, I remembered the quote above - how proud Nils was to call himself a maggot. I think his pride in being part of this community pales in comparison with our pride in being able to call Nils a maggot.

This is both the saddest and the most beautiful thing that has ever been posted on this forum.

I think most of us can only hope to touch other people's lives a fraction of what Nils did during his all too short time on earth.

May he rest in peace and never be forgotten.
