Hillary Clinton shoots self in foot!

Sure, the Republican field looks mighty weak, but it would take a real "suspension of disbelief" to actually think HRC stands a chance to be elected Pres. in 08. It's always has been pretty obvious she's a complete douchebag, but why drive the point home by calling out the validity of Petraeus's report before he even delivered it? True, many other Dems made douchebags out of themselves on C-Span this week (as well as in the NY Times and Syrian TV), but none of them are running for the party nomination. A professional politician should know better. Oh well, at least she still has most of the dipshit chick vote ("I'd vote for her because she's a woman!"). Then again, the Dems have really developed a habit of shooting themselves in the foot leading up to any major election. Still, it's a bit early. Maybe this is just a warm up?

Thank God for Al Gore, huh? When do you think he'll announce? Obama seems to be the only one left with any sort of integrity whatsoever - ya think Gore will wait 'til he self-destructs as well? I'm saying November at the lastest.

Jer, try not to be such a stupid fucking hack. Petraeus went in and toed the bullshit line that things are improving, using figures that no one believes are real (attacks are down as long as you don't count most of the attacks--Iraqi deaths aren't part of the war!). The war is an abject failure, as is this entire presidency--someone should be held accountable, and it's not the role of a responsible (read: not Republican) Congress to eat whatever shit the administration wants to feed them.

Don't be such a reactionary, partisan tool. Clinton's fault is in not being hard enough, early enough, on the war proponents.

I know you're just a mindless troll and this is sort of a game for you, but people are dying and being maimed for nothing and it's time to end it.

With the lowest Congressional approval rating in history.

Really? Where are you getting your hard facts from? I haven't read that anywhere yet.

EDIT: Just read here http://www.galluppoll.com/content/?ci=27589 that they are quite low. I guess this doesn't surprise me as they haven't been able to put an end to the war or stop Bush from doing anything yet.

True. Because they managed to keep a low profile for a few months while the Reps self-destructed. The reason they got the Congress majorities wasn't so much because America wanted Dems in as much as it was they wanted Rep
douchebags out. Now they have a bunch of Dem douchebags in there doing nothing.

Hillary (and pretty much all the other major Dem playa's) made a fool of herself bigtime this week. Granted, it's still over a year out, but what a dumb move. That crap may play with the extreme-o librodouche crowd, but most people think that kind of behavior is just plain douchebaggy. Like I said, tho - it doesn't really matter once Gore throws his hat in.

18% (not necessarily the lowest in history because such ratings were not made prior to 1974).

Ummmm... wasn't she actually a "war proponent"?

Do you get an e-mail every morning from moveon.org telling you what to think for the day??

If by "quite low" you mean the lowest in history, then yes - they are quite low.

Then again -all the smart people know that gallup is just a bunch of fascist neo-cons.

Also from Gallup, not necessarily the lowest approval rating in history for Congress but apparently the least since 1992.

Oh, and DICKBAG - this thread isn't about the war in Iraq, it's about Hillary Clinton making a fool out of herself when she really can't afford to. Nice spin attempt, tho DICKBAG.

Politicians are liars, crooks and killers. Jer lives for attention. Somethings you just can't change, so why bother?

Did I miss something? Wasn't it revealed that Jer is really DW? Why do you guys still respond to his retarded attention starved threads? (I guess that question is equally appropriate even if Jer isn't DW, but I thought he was.)

Yeah - and guys like you give me plenty of attention. Ironically enough, that's something you can change (without even much bother).

Totally agreed on your first point, tho.

Why is it that any TGR Librodouche can post thread after thread about how all Reps/Cons completely suck and all the other douches consider it a thoughtful and intelligent discussion, but when I or any of the other non-Librodouches post anything it's some sick cry for attention? Oh yeah - I forgot - the TGR Librodouche double-standard! You guys are priceless!

Oh, and dickbag - I was talking to a guy who was recently maimed in Iraq (he was one of the guys who actually goes out and looks for/disarms IEDs), and he doesn't think he was maimed for "nothing". Dex, stop being such a hubris-drunk loser. Or is that kool-aid drunk??

Jer, what you're doing is like walking into a bar in Norman, Oklahoma with a Texas Longhorns t-shirt on....some people are going to take offense to it and the next thing you know, you're being carted out with your testicles in your hand. At least I know better than to come onto TGR and start talking politics, even though I am mostly contrary to most of the people here.

here's the problem with congress's poll numbers

sure 82% of the population thinks they suck

but I can pretty much guarentee that 50+% of people think their districts member is doing a great job(whether they be republican or democrat)

this is why the Bullshit is NEVER going to stop

when you have elections where only 20-30 seats in a congress are in play it becomes harder and harder to get rid the douche bags who have no interest in compromise and middle ground because thats not what keeps them getting elected
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

You'd likely get the exact same sense of conviction and moral purpose from the guy who planted the IED.

Not understanding that is the root of the problem.

That would be quite the effort on DW/Jer's part. Both interweb identities have a shit ton of posts...DW over 1K and Jer over 2K. Serious cunting business.

Then it must be good policy to get more of them maimed and killed in the Iraqi Civil War. Learn to think, then post--don't reverse this order. And the soldier you spoke with hardly speaks for all of them (http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/081907A.shtml and before you call those guys liberdouches, remember that two of them died yesterday serving in the war you're pushing from your computer, you stupid fuck).
As for why no one considers your threads to be thoughtful discourse on anything at all, if you can't look at your first idiotic post and here and understand that, you really are dumb as a rock.

There are rumblings that now that Gonzalez has resigned, Chertoff is the frontrunner to succeed him. If he does, you can be sure that he will conduct a criminal investigation, and pursue possible criminal charges against HRC in connection with her role in certain fundraising activities in 2006. This when combined with the innuendos of whitewater should make the fall campaign rather interesting.

    This should be fun!

Congressional ratings are low because Democrats are pissed that their party has not ended the war. Republicans actually give the same % positives as dem respondents in that poll.
