    Narrow Sit bones...

Saturday, I was riding Wasatch Crest down to Millcreek on my Transition Dirtbag. About half way through the ride, my saddle got REALLY uncomfortable, and I could feel pressure on my perenium...

Wanting to eventually father children, as well as to not have to depend on chemistry to satisfy my future significant other, I figured I should get a better fitting saddle...

So I went and got Ass-O-Metered last night...

Well, my sit bones are significantly narrower (110mm)than the narrowest saddle that specialized offers (130)...

    So...

Any recommendations on some Narrow-Ass saddles or a custom saddle manufacturer?

The Ass-O-Meter comes with a translation table, since the width of the sit bones doesn't correspond to the saddle width. I'm pretty sure the translation goes like this:

"The code on the back of the assometer specifies a 130 saddle for a sitbone center to center width of 100 mm or less, a 143 saddle for a sitbone center to center of 100 mm to 130mm and a 155 for a sitbone center to center of 130 or more."

I'm about 100 mm <insert tight assed joke here> and I'm on a 130 mm Specialized Toupe saddle on my road bike. Best saddle I've ever had.

I mistakenly thought I had narrow sit bones, so I bought the Fizik Nisene saddle. Well, after a couple rides I realized it didn't fit. It was too narrow. I got assometered as well and found out I needed a 143, my width was about 130, but the 150 saddle is really more of a cruiser bike saddle. The 143 is working out perfect.

Anyways, I spent about 70 bucks on a saddle I have used twice.

If you think it might be right for you, it is yours for 25 bucks. Fizik Nisene CP with technogel and magnesium rails. After I bought it, I read the reviews that said it was people with narrow sitbones.

I definitely second the Toupe for road riding.

Tough call for mtn though, so many saddles now have some sort of v cut in the rear and I find it catches my shorts if I have to move out behind the saddle when I come back. I know ride my saddle lower but how low can you go. Serfas has a few nice mtn saddles that are usually priced better than everything else.
