    Happy Gapril Fools! (Sick Pics)

Today was Gapril fools day here at jackson...it was swweet! Im not gonna write a full troip reprot cause im not sober. doh-maybe the betty ford clinic would be a wise choicse. anyways i think today was the most fun day ive wever had on skis. the mountain was laden with locals dressed as gapers. people were gaping it up in full force. everything from mono boards to snowlerblades to camo one pieces to floro green and orange to spread eagles to skiing sick dirt lines to mullets to mohawks. it was definatley entertaining. heres some pics

Top of thunder bumps...the most Gaperesque run on the mtjn.

OPther than spilling 1/2 a tall boy on myself in the tram the day went pretty wlell. I teled for the dsecond time this season(6th in my life) and felt prety good on blacks/bumps/steeops..so that was cool...i need burlier tele skis though. maybe ill mount my g3s on my 10EXs Anyways back to the gaper stoke

my wife saw the herd skiing Thunder bumps.
She particularly liked the guys that were bunp skiing while guzzling beer. Wha'd you have, 50 or so gapers with you?

Excellent choice. This setup should allow you to easily break 80mph whilst gaping in the bumps. Looks like it was a really crappy day.

Here, on ther other hand, it's been cold and rainy for 3 days straight! If we had a 10000 ft peak in DC there'd be at least 5 ft of fresh on it...

Wow...Im hurtin again today. Why did they have the ski school party on April fools day. I drank for 14 hours yesterday and started at 12 to kill the hangover from the night before. I'm tempted to dress like a gaper for the rest of the season. so much fun.

I'd have to guess there were more like 100+. Its hard telling, but the thunder maze was full for at least a hour and every tram i took was pretty full (maybe 35-40/tram)

Yeh, I lost it and almost shot into trees while maching down gros ventre cause i got thrown off by the slush...it woulda been ugly

You guys are my heros. I'm not kidding.

Sherpa - I was only kidding about the Betty Ford thing. I hope you didn't take it to heart.

This thread RULES! I dig the neon straight skis. What the hell are those?

Uber- No worries about the betty ford comment. I wasnt too offended by it. Sometimes I do wonder about myself though...

Those are volkls. Anyone know what model? I'd have to ask. He said he's gonna be rockin em on employee ski day (monday) too, so I'll look into it. He found them in the trash in December. Can you believe some one threw those out!?!?! What were they thinking?

Those would be Volkl Rentigers. One of the best skis on the planet back in the day.

    Still have the Rental Derby?

    Sherpa,

Do they still do the JH Rental Derby? It sounds very similar with a few official twists.

    Rules:
    -Must be dressed as gaper.
-Must have rental skis shorter than 170's (I think that was the max?, this was back when 203-210's were the norm for JH)
-Must have bindings set at din for skier type I
    -Must have rental boots.
    -Should be drunk.
    -Chinese downhill to Nick's

No demo anything. First one down the mountain won. The big problem was keeping your skis on your feet at such a low din. Saw dudes jumping corbets and have both skis just explode on impact.

Was a very hilarious day on skis, but as I (fuzzily) remember the SkiCo was trying to put the kibosh on it. Didn't like drunk-out of control locals on skis that would magically come flying off.
He who has the most fun wins!
