Just wondering where you did it and how much it would run to?

Is that like getting pushed off a bridge?
Is there any other way to do free fall other than accelerated?
You are what you eat.

There's no such thing as bad snow, just shitty skiers.
I did tandem free fall last year, and, I tell ya, you really want to take your time choosing and prepping for this. Not the kind of thing you want to rush.

Did it a long time ago, about $200, on a weekend lark because my brother and I were bored. Wasn't a course, just the first day's worth. A day's training followed by a single jump with two instructors holding on from the plane, releasing me when I pulled the ripcord. The first few seconds were literally mind blowing. Then the wind helped me re-orient & find the horizon. Didn't really feel in control until the chute had fully opened. The paraglider was highly maneuverable and a lot of fun. Steering was guided from the ground - landing was intuitive and trivial. Good fun.

paragliders are not used for skydiving!

I'm actually in the middle of one right now. Just did my 3rd and 4th jumps yesterday in Ogden. From what I can tell, most dropzones have their own courses, so once you start at one place, you can't finish it off somewhere else. For the 7 jumps that it takes to graduate from the Ogden site, it will run about $1,200-$1,300 if you pass each level the first time. It you're serious about passing each level, get a few jumps in and then get into a wind tunnel to practice turns and and stability in the air. It's a lot cheaper than failing a level and having to repeat. Once you're graduated, it gets a lot cheaper. Skydiving is pretty much a big pyramid scheme, where people who just go once or twice pay for the whole operation.

"This is a frightened city. Over these houses, over these streets hangs a pall of fear. Fear of a new kind of violence which is terrorizing the city. Yes, gangs of old ladies attacking defenseless, fit young men".
Not quite sure about the name "Accelerated." I've done a few Assisted Free Fall jumps in my life, and they were quite accelerated, but I'm not familiar with any jumps by that name.
In the accelerated version, perhaps they hurl you out of the plane from a slingshot thingie pointed towards the ground? That might be way cooler, since the other way takes almost 3 seconds to finally get you up to 120MPH. I always hated how long that took.....

Well, I'll be. A quick search on Google shows that it's much more common to call AFF "Accelerated" rather than "Assisted." I guess it's instructor preference.
It's barely lunchtime and I've already learned something new today. It's gonna be one of those days....
Steve Fossett has, we think.
