Greets-
If anyone is interested, our full review went live a few weeks ago over at
Helmet Camera Central. Raw video clips, frame grabs, usability, tons of insight and details. Overall the POV1 is a winner, but there are some usability issues and videophiles will have a few things to say.
I'm very stoked on this unit. Many helmet cam vendors are jealous (and worried), and for good reasons. Someone finally got it right.
Someone quoted $900 earlier... you can get these for less than $825 and with free shipping too. Even then, the price seems steep, but it's a fully integrated, dvd resolution system, that is fully waterproof out of the box (the whole thing, not just the cam). It comes with a 1 GB sd card, batteries, carrying case, and a camera mount. It has one battery system, one cable, wireless remote, tapeless, rugged. I'm telling ya, the hidden costs of typical helmet cam systems.... A complete analog system with all the bells & whistles that are included with the POV1 - will set you back at least $700 - and you'll end up with a cheap PVR (or camcorder), multiple batteries, wires galore, connectors that were not designed to be stuffed in backpacks, duct taped connections, and the list goes on.
Seriously, check out the review:
