    Anyone skied the Fujative?

I'm looking for a pair of skis for Mrs Roo. She's got a pair of Nordica W105s for the really big days but is looking for something that will be a little less demanding and a lot more versatile for the sort of sunny, mixed condition days we had at the Tahoe summit. Therefore it's got to be pretty gentle flexing, yet wide-ish in the waist and affordable too.

I've searched for Phat Luvs but they seem expensive so I was wondering if anybody here had skied the Fujative. Just park'n'pipe or will it work as a ladies all mountain ski? She needs something in the 170/175cm ballpark. Also thinking about the Karhu Jil.

I wouldn't get the Fujative for her. They've been designed to have a rather distinct flex point in front of the toe and behind the heel to help in tail/nose presses and butters.

In non-steezin' terms: they're not so hot (right now) for all-mtn.

PE's are $180 in a 169 at www.rei.com right now. Check the "on sale" section.

Ms. K tried the Phat Luvs and the PEs one day at Alpine last month; she's now completely obsessed with the PEs. When I absolutely ate shit last weekend, blowing up one of my K2s, she rushed to my side and, as I lay motionless, asked "If those are still under warranty, will you get me some Public Enemys?"

I would have slapped her, but the exact same thing had already occurred to me.

Cheers mate! I just bagged myself a pair. They'll deliver to my door in London for a total of $236 (127 pounds sterling). Bargain!!

    Hey Roos...

Hey! Can you pm me or put the exact web link on here of the skis Mrs. Roo purchased? I couldn't find the PEs on rei.com. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough...can ya help me out? I'd be interested in purchasing some skis to last me the rest of the season....as that price is pretty cheap. Thanks!!

Ah. Looks like Mrs Roo has bagged the last pair. They're no longer appearing on the REI page...

    Sorry, DG!

Looks like the time difference worked in our favour this time. You have to get up early to catch the Roos.

I'm sure there are many more bargains to be had.

Are there any other deals at rei.com that I should look into? $200-ish is a great price for new skis. Anyone?

the x screams for 2-something aren't bad, as the series has a wood core. I like the way they ski.

Thanks Schuss - I'm skiing on a recreational version of the X screams right now, and I can actually *see* the wood core inside them because they're delaminating so much
I like the way they ski, but I haven't really been on many other skis. However, this is definitely a good deal...thanks for pointing it out!
