Anybody have any pull at skiutah.com?

I just found out the silver pass is sold out.

I really had my hopes set on this. If any of you have any strings you could pull for me that would be awesome.

I mean, it's a pass right? They could make one more right?

From what I heard the limited number of these passes are nearly always eliminated when last season's pass holders are able to renew before new purchases are allowed.

    so so whack

passes are so goddamned expensive. If I take snowbird as a given I pretty much have to choose between alta and solitude. and that leaves snowbasin/powmow with tresckow, kristen and a few of my buddies from summer work uncovered.

it's killing me, I thought I had this figured out

Read what you just wrote and then laugh. You are having to choose between 10 resorts that are closer than most people are to 1. It's a rough life here in Utah.

    fair enough.

but the enormity of it makes it so friends scatter and you can either not ski with them or pay $50/60 a day to ski with them.

I agree with you. Money always holds us back from skiing with our friends at their local mountains. Tresckow and Kristen are two of my favorite people to ride with and I am not sure I will be able to.

From "the man" at Ski Utah.

Here's the scoop. The best (and only way it seems) to get a Silver Pass is
to get on the waitlist. You might not get a pass this year, but everyone
who signed up on the waitlist last year was able to get one this year. So,
your friend should definitely get on the waitlist. If we have a
cancellation this year we go straight to the waitlist to offer the pass.

Let me know if you want the contact info to get on the waiting list.

Why not, it's not like we moved to Mississippi. We are right up the road, you have a place to crash, and after all of your international adventures, I'm sure you can figure something out.

Good luck Yeti, don't do anything I wouldn't do to get the pass.

Thanks for the help moving, your good people, or at least the size of two people. Actually, your probably more helpful that 2 people, so you have that going for you.

I thought Silver Passes were available up until Sept. 28th???

    That is whack!

edit: Whoops - got the silver pass confused with the silver card. Still whack, tho. Why would they sell a limited number of silver passes?

nice, I have been traveling around trying to soak up as much of the colorful local flavor as possible. I've seen some good stuff so far, you should see Yeti's new shirt!

I too like beer. We could do like a beer a thon. Shotgun a beer at my place, run the 1/2 block to your place and shotgun another beer, It could be relay style - then flyk take off to do the second lap. Then winners are the first to hurl.

That's a great idea, I like stumbling around and hurling.
