I have several questions, but basically I'm starting up my own skiing website. I have several questions.

1. Where is the least expensive place for me to buy the domain name I'd like? (yes, it is available)

2. What are some of the best hosting providers to use?

3. I'd like to host and let people upload as much video is possible. What is the cheapest transfer rate that I can get?

4. Are there any other things a n00b like myself needs to know? Thanks.

48 "web professionals and web savvy" peoples have read this thread, but not responded.......C'mon folks...where else can you get your videos hosted for free minus the pain in the ass of transfer restrictions etc? Help!

go to a computer forum, usually you see tons of ads for peoples hosting co's. Usually they'll register a domain name cheap for ya at the same time. As for vid, you'll pay through the nose if you want to let people upload and view video in large amounts as its the biggest bandwidth sucker around. Just look around to get an idea what I'm talking about.

it really depends on the level of "hosting" you're looking for.. if you want cheap + a lot of disk space.. id suggest finding a small local ISP that hosts web pages .. you'll get the best support from them, and they can be the most flexible.

Brett this is the 2nd time you have asked for help / advice in the last 24 hours and responded with " 60 views and only 2 responses ! " there are a couple scenarios here; one maybe people just don't have the info you are looking for, or two maybe they don't feel like helping you out because of your Dr. Jeykl Mr. Hyde personality.

On some threads you come out blazing like an alias, talking unneeded shit and ripping people in a ridiculously Sophomoric way. Then two minutes later you make some reasonable comments or at least ones that fit the overall tone of the thread. You've been around awhile now so either you are socially retarded or just a good old fashioned asshole.

Basically you can't have it both ways around here. This is not an anonymous internet group, this is a real community that exists in the real world where people don't continually talk crazy shit to their friends one minute and ask a favor the next.

If you take the internet this seriously, I'd love to see how you work in real life. Do you point a 9mm at anyone who looks at you cockeyed and write angly letters to comedy central about their "offensive" humor?

Real life is too short to take too seriously much less the virtual world... to see people get so serious and worked up over stupid shit on the internet makes me bust out laughing.

People either need to get a real life so they don't take this virtual one so seriously... or remove the stick stuck far up their assholes with twigs sticking out of their noses. This will result in a lighter atmosphere and less ballyhooing every time someone says something besides "I love you, I love how uptight and serious you are, I love your skiing, you rule, and can I please suck you off and worship as a god?"
