Karhu Jak BC v Pocket Rocket

Anyone know anything about the Karhu Jak BC? I know its lighter, but is it stiffer than the Jak? I'm looking to add either this ski or the Salomon PR to my quiver as an alpine touring ski. Any input would be great.

    i saw that!
Just wondering if anyone used it for AT? I've yet to see that setup...don't know because it's a tele-specific ski if there would be any issues. Granted, the Jak is the Line Mothership with different colors...but the BC is a bit different.

Jaks are Obeses really obese the green color looks really cool and they have the notch for skins already (no adapters or duct tape)
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

Jak BC will be the same (minus the few tele differences - less tail and notched, reinforcment for toe area) as next year's mothership flight. (flex, weight, and stiffness)

The Jak will be the same as the Motherhship Titanium.
    (slightly heavier)

I don't know how the two flexes compare to one another. But am curious myself.

well, i got the Jak BC. They're on their way. Will update after use - probably up to Jay, Tucks or GOS next week. Will be mounting with my Fritschis (haven't figured out where to mount them yet, boot center, etc...)

Please. When it comes to something like mounting bindings don't just forward some ill-informed guess. Say something constructive or just shut up.

Well, I got a reply from Karhu dealer. Here's what they said.

If you're mounting them with Randonee bindings, your boot center mark should be 932mm from the tip (36 3/4"). You want to keep the tape measure running in a straight line. Don't follow the profile of the tip of the ski.

So I will try that and see how they do, hopefully by the weekend. Will report for any interested.
