    To this....

    To this..

    To this:

    and finally, to this...

And my room went from this...

To this, in about 5 hours....

Shroom - the car in your background is tripping me out. The slope angle of that hill makes it seem highly unlikely to drive it down there, the front end is like 2 feet from the lake.

What the hell is going on there?

Thats either the worlds smallest raised planter bed,
the worst job of burying a hooker ever,

or a landing pit for a midget long jump competition.

the road goes parallel with the fence i put up, that car is parked under an overhang/garage on the lake side of that road

I spent today up in New Hampshire getting this thing running and thought I'd share a few pics. I picked up a side project from a professor I'm working with on something else. It's a giant solar concentrator. This one is a 1/3 scale (in length anyway.. the parabola is full size) model for something that's apparently going to be replicated 8000 times and tossed in the Sahara in North Africa. I did the servos that move the trough to track the sun... The part that moves weighs a few tons. There are two servos per trough, and they're based on .5 hp motors attached to a 120:1 planetary gear reducer then a 60:1ish chain drive.

The protective sheets haven't been taken off of the mirrored surface yet, but it'll still burn you pretty quickly on an overcast day.

Pretty much, except the collector tube is at the top of the structure of the individual trough. There's no central target.

    Super nice work, booner.

I am out of the game now, the only thing I will be able to add to this thread in the future is my own small projects.
