Shroom - the car in your background is tripping me out. The slope angle of that hill makes it seem highly unlikely to drive it down there, the front end is like 2 feet from the lake.

I spent today up in New Hampshire getting this thing running and thought I'd share a few pics. I picked up a side project from a professor I'm working with on something else. It's a giant solar concentrator. This one is a 1/3 scale (in length anyway.. the parabola is full size) model for something that's apparently going to be replicated 8000 times and tossed in the Sahara in North Africa. I did the servos that move the trough to track the sun... The part that moves weighs a few tons. There are two servos per trough, and they're based on .5 hp motors attached to a 120:1 planetary gear reducer then a 60:1ish chain drive.
The protective sheets haven't been taken off of the mirrored surface yet, but it'll still burn you pretty quickly on an overcast day.
