Nice first post. You can't go wrong here posting pictures of beer.

    How'd that stout come out?

Yeah I figured this was a fairly safe spot for a first post.
The Orange Spiced Stout came out better than expected.
Dark and heavy with an Orange note, not citrusy, and a good hint of spices to give it that holiday feel. Brew day tomorrow in remembrance of our Veterans, another Stout for the Winter. I'll update later on how that one turns out. My favorite way to waste time while waiting for snow.

My daughter's a tweenager, so the clothes are taking over. I started this project out as just building some shelves for clothing. It kinda grew into a loft with stairs (dog has to be able to get up, too!):

Nicely done. You should plant the idea in her head about having a weight limit up there. To discourage any future "guests" up there.

Thanks... I did think of him a little bit. Function was important and strength (it holds all three of us and the dog, no problem), but I wanted to make it appear to be floating. The cabs on the upper front are actually part of a big box beam. It's all birch veneer plywood, strong as sh*t, especially if you have two pieces at right angles to each other. She loves modern architecture so...

The best thing is my daughter loves it and Otis has it figured out already:

    Suspended Xmas Tree

Suspended a 10 foot Christmas tree about 10 feet off the ground. Started by building, hoisting and leveling a platform.

Setup some scaffolding and started setting up the tree. Sucker was heavy - probably 500 lbs for all sections.

Roped up and continued adding tree sections.

Added ornaments, covered the platform and secured the tree with guide wires. Finished product from the inside.

    ..and from the outside.

Own house. It stayed up last year without crushing anyone, so hoping for the best. Also got it a bit more secured this year so it doesn't sway back and forth if people are pushing on the railings.

I'm just thinking of the late night gift placement, and drunk and hungover retrieval. Cool concept and execution though.

    Nice bed bigdaddy.

Work continues slowly on this interminable project. It's definitely going to interfere with ski time.

My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

I built this shelf about a year and a half ago as my first woodworking project. Cherry with oak inlays.
