The piece is 6'6"w, 27"h, 24"d so you can just walk it though doors. And up stairs.[/QUOTE]
Up stairs? I would have to make it in 6 pieces.
pretty nice beads there.
swing your fucking sword.
Like the railroad spike door handles. I could see those in a future home.

A vanity commission. It was pretty fun.![]()

Very, very nice work. While I'm not a fan of mid-century modern myself (that piece could have been in my parents bedroom) it certainly is popular these days and it sure beats the "rustic" stuff made out of branches stuck together that used to popular around here. (Unfortunately my mom died just before the MCM craze--I think her bedroom set went to the thrift.)

damn that is killer!
What's the wood and finish?
Haha, thanks. When I want to I can do a bit better than ghetto AF especially when someone's paying me.
It's maple veneer armacore with a too-dark stain (IMO) to match other stuff in the house. Sprayed with pre-cat lacquer because they wanted the slight golden hue. I try to use waterbourne finishes whenever I can but they just look like no finish at all. I'm in the process of doing a bunch of decorative wood accents in other areas, and there are maple framed mirrors to match the vanity ready to go in. I'll try to get decent pics when it's finished.

It's a good looking finish.
Nice, man. Can I come help you sheet it? What's the plan for roof trusses?
Looking forward to seeing that ^^^ come together.
My dad came over this weekend and we built this little trellis I had drawn up and replaced the skirting on the deck. Next project will be to stain the deck and repaint the railing.
Apparently kiwis will grow in central WA, so we're going to give it a shot... We've had that one in the ground for over a month now and it's looking pretty happy.

...and elsewhere, groutation complete.
I only backbuttered, wife did the layout/design and cut virtually all the tiles.

That's quite the tile design!
Here's some more from the MCM house. 12' ceilings gave plenty of room to work with. The skinny maple strips beside the fireplace have a blue background as well. It was a bitch to get them straight and solidly connected to the 1/8 MDF backing without a lot of face nailing. The blue behind the shelves is an embossed wallpaper that we painted.![]()

Nice work. My wife would be in heaven in that house.
