    The Amazing PNW

    hello all.
Just wanted to tell all of you about how amazing WA is and was this weekend. Excellent day at Crystal on Saturday. I have read some accounts from previous threads about the day, and I agree that it was equally amazing. I have no idea about who you people are, but it was cool to see that some of you (highman and skigirl) were right along side me when the SBack opened up.

Alpy on Sunday was at its finest. Very laid back and LOTS of sun. Good turns were had by all, most everyone I talked to on the lifts. I left sunday evening around 3:30 with a sense that the Cascades are the fucking greatest and unparalleled and unmatched by any mountain.

Couldn't make the Mini, sort of a last second pull out, as it were...

Echoing Mr. Duder's comments above, Mt Hood was stellar on Saturday...best pow since January.

Whoo hoo!!! So glad you had a great time!

I ended up in Whistler for an improptu weekend - next time you'll have to try a little further north.

Oh no, I'm from here!! Born and raised in Olympia (Yes, I can admit that!) I currently live on Lake Washington in Seattle.

I have been riding the Cascades ever since I was a child. Lived in B'ham for about 3 years as well.

I love this place though, and always advocate that it is the best place to live for the mountains and for the lakes. After a spring weekend like this past one, I have to try to make everyone jealous and express how good it is here and how good we locals have it!

I will totally second that...The Cascades are the shit, and oddly enough, totally underrated. I have no problem with it staying that way either. After growing up in Jackson WY, I didn't think I could ever live anywhere else...till I moved out here.

Oh c'mon, the PNW sucks. Too many SUV driving, latte' sipping, aging but very hip young people, snow like slug snot, over crowded supposedly natural resources. Wretched traffic, gloomy rain, rotted seaweed, tree hugging hypocrites.

Take Denver, soak in brine, mix Texas bred Boulderites, season with brain burnt Californian, the zeal of an LDSer, the insouciance of Earth Firster and the avarice of Bill Gates performing a gay wedding.

    Highman,

HA HA! Nice. Just how every typical person outside WA should think! Hopefully they will not come here!

yeah, Buster's totally right. It's shitty. Don't bother coming here. If you simply must, go check out Summit Central. It's right by Alpental, but don't listen to the locals when they tell you Central sucks and you should go to Alpie. Those bastards just want Central to themselves.

By the way, Duder, were you in the freeride at Crystal?

yeah, i heard summit west was where it's at. and don't even think about going to that <whisper> placed called Baker. I hear they don't get any snow and the terrain is pretty boring.
