    Nice pics dudes, that snow looks sweet!! It was definitely nice to see a return to winter this weekend.

    I spent the weekend trying to get to Snowmass, we made it in 6 miles after skinning for 7 hours through heavy wet snow. Slow going!! After hiking in we spent the night somewhere in the Snowmass Creek valley, near Oxbow Lake we think. The next day we awoke to about 8" of new and enjoyed the beautiful tour back to the trailhead. We were wiped, which was just as well because there was too much new snow to safely attempt the peak anyway. The way I figure it, the mountain isn't going anywhere anytime soon, we'll be back. Seems like you guys had the right idea!

    Shredhead, like funken said earlier we found no signs of weakness in the pack, mostly just a little sloughing here and there from the new layer. Towards the end of the day the more exposed faces started to get a little wind slabby.
