TR - Beating the heat at Skyscraper 8-11-07

So it looks like Adimmen and Summit beat us by a day! Never fear.

A different four ventured out this Saturday to Skyscraper. There was a little more snow than last year oddly enough. This field always kinda puzzles me, it holds snow for so long and is basically south facing. Ain't complaining! We took a different approach than last year, and the weather held out perfectly.

The group shot from the car:

    Looking down:

Looking over from the larger shelf you can see Adimmen and Summit's lines from the day before:

    First August turns:

Killer Cheetah dropping in the 50 deg entrance. Special note, this is her first full season of skiing anywhere and she's already pretty fearless to handle stuff like this:

    Becky joins the crew:

A pretty hairy bootpack up and we rested, then suited up for a second drop.

Mikey making it look graceful. Happy August...

    Another day slayed.

Next it was a nice warm hike out, and a visit to the Pub on the way home for pizza and libations. Bring on September!

The best August turns I've had by far. I'll be heading back.

Good to see someone getting turns. I have lacked the dedication this summer.
