OK...here's my dos centavos on the recent crap going on.

Sorry to hear about iskibc...dude is troubled and I hope he deals with his demons. I don't blame some of you for being pissed off, but the community needs to look at the good its does.

Let's review (some examples):

Shmoesmith
Support for Plakes
Support for Iskibc and She-ra
Maggot contrib to many member's charities...ask gadget, snowtigress or wsd
PM Gear...while Splat et al do all the work, my guess is that w/o support from maggots as purcasers and otherwise, it would have never got off the ground
Maggots taking the time to teach Max Gosey how to ski...I hope he doesnt kill himself
BC maggots taking noobs under their wing
Everyone hookiong up for AKPMs tour of the lower 48 a couple of years ago

and on and on

A little story...

Last year at Gordycamp i rented a killer house for a week. Place was fucking huge. so I opened it up to other people going to the camp. The only ones I had ever met were Lego and divegirl, and we had like 10 mags, as I recall. NOBODY WAS A DICK (unless I was and nobody said anything), people freely shared wine, beer, food...great skiing was had...late night stoned/drunk phone calls were made (uhhh, sorry about that everyone...my idea)...and everyone who came paid up asap.

I had to leave a day early, because of some work shit. I was a little worried because I had a sizeable deposit on the place...the owner called to tell me the place was as clean as any group had left it, and that he'd love to rent the place to us again. that's the kind of people that are in this diverse and somewhat bizarre collective. I'll hang with mags anyday and hope they'll have me.

So here's to us and to comraderie born of shared enthusiasm for the sports we enjoy. Mazaltov.

Some of my nearest and dearest friends have come from this board. People that I truly love and I know (because I've found out first hand) would do anything for me. And I would do anything for them.

Summer is always ugly here (though this certainly exceeds precedent!).

I know that i'm new here and so my opinions don't carry all that much weight but I would also like to add my .02.

I joined this forum after having found it while googling info on Naxo's. Not only did I find the information that I was looking for (and more) I found a community that I felt immediately close to. Not only do you folks provide some of the funniest comments and gnarliest stoke I've ever seen but you also support one another in ways rarely seen in todays world. I had my first opportunity to meet some maggots this summer and very much enjoyed having them crash at my pad (despite all the warnings from friends and family who say "You're gonna let people you've met off the internet stay at your house? Even with your newborn baby?!?!") I hope to meet many many more of you in person and all of you are welcome in my house anytime. (well maybe not all of you at once)

I hope to stick around here for a long while and do what I can to help keep this community strong.

I'd also like to throw a gigantic "THANK YOU" to those mags that are very knowledgeable and extremely skilled in their pursuits. Its the information that you guys share that help the rest of us to take the next step.

I'd also like to thank those of you that provided Ash and I with the +++vibes when we where stuck in the hospital waiting for our little guy to come out healthy.

If there is anything I can ever do for a maggot, I will not hesitate to do so.

For the record:

-I haven't met a single maggot who wasn't at least a little bit cool in person. Many have gone out of their way to show me around.

-The only thing better than getting hooked up by maggots is getting to help another one out.
