Too good to be true?? I'm guessing yes.

Saw these three sweet Suzuki 2004 gsx-r 1000s on EBAY, spanking new. The guy has a buy it now of $2900 on each of them. Where do you guys think is the scam in this? I e-mailed him saying he should probably fix the mistake in the auction, and than he sent me this. Seems WAY too good to be true, however tempting since I'm in the market to buy one......

    The E-mail:

    Hello there,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing my bike.I know that are numerous offers on eBay and I'm glad that you choose to contact me regarding your willingness to purchase.
I have 3 Suzuki GSXR1000 2004 models for sale.Price for each of them is 2900$US shipping included.

I have restricted the bidding because I have had some problems with bidders who offer me a price that is much greater than the retail price. They only want to conjure away the competition. You can check my auction record for proof.

First of all I must inform you that currently I'm in Greece and I have to let you know that the bike is here with me .I am the first owner of the bike.

You will receive your bike in 4-5 working days by Lufthansa Airplane Cargo at your home address. It is insured in case of damage and it take 4-5 days to be delivered at your DOOR.I will send you the bike with all the papers (warranty, insurance etc ...) .

No damages, no scratches or dents, never touched the ground, no hidden defects, the engine doesn't smoke, runs and sounds awesome, the engine has never been repaired or something like that, never been into accidents and it is as advertised. The bike is an US model with US specs ( the speedomeeter is in miles), comes with all the documents you need to register the bike (manual still sealed, clear title in my hand, bill of sale signed by me) still under warranty.

I recently moved here and was going to register it here but changed my mind because I don't have the time to enjoy it anymore and I decide it to sell it. I didn't paid for Greece import taxes and if I keep the bike like that I was going to lose it and its better to ship it where it belongs, that means US. Time is really an issue and we have to move fast.

Final price is $ 2900 US (this price includes the shipping and insurance) and if you agree with this price we can start to complete the transaction.

Price is good cause if I pay taxes here and sell it here would get the same price if I sell it in US from here.Any way i've lost my job too last week and i really need the money right now until i will find a new job.

The bike will be shipped from Greece. You will not have to pay additional taxes cause the bike is registered in US, just only the price for it.

    Waiting for your email,
    George

PS:If you are interested in a package deal i am going to make you a good offer:7200$US for all three of them.If you want to call me here is my contact number:0030XXXX4042.

What do you guys think? His feedback is 100% good, but still this sounds WAY too good to be true.

They were just pulled off E-bay for some unknown reason....

It now says this:The item you requested (2470137202) is invalid, still pending, or no longer in our database. Please check the number and try again. If this message persists, the item has either not started and is not yet available for viewing, or has expired and is no longer available.

I have heard of people getting a hold of other peoples Ebay accounts and ratings and using them in "to good to be true" situations. I am not sure how the scam works, but I would check in with Ebay.

Yeah, eBay has had a bunch of accounts hijacked recently. For some reason, the hijackers like listing motorcycles at rediculously low prices. I'm not saying this one IS one of these occurances, but it either is or eBay was suspicious and pulled it.

Speaking of I have a selling account, I keep getting weird "Please add 13 for shipping to Utah" or "Does it come with a warranty?" questions from people. When I go to click to see the auction and I get the not vaild page. I went to see if my account had any suspicious things or auction listings and it turned up clean.

Spam or is my account getting worked?

    Possibly.

Either that or it's someone's lame attempt to get someone with penguin-looking toes, one of which may or may not have an image of Jesus on it, to post on the internet.

    You never know.
