Wink I wanted a Pair of spatulas , but then

After riding Funkendrenchman's spatulas the other day I fancied having a pair for messing about on, such a fun contraption, but then today I scored these!

They are at leat as wide as Big Daddies and resonably stiff....the biners and their offset mounting is a bit dubious though....I'm told they have like 10 days on them.

I am still pissed about being outbid on ebay for a pair of Powder Cruises from that era - because my connection crapped out at the vital moment. 104 underfoot apparently. They sold for £28 - never drilled. Fuck.

    Idris,
For your next purchase think about 2 narrow snowboards..... one for each foot. Not sure what bindings you could hook-up to them but think of the float possibilities on pow. You are the surfer dude!
when not on the snow what else do i do...

I had 2 identical rossignol alpine boards for this purpose, but decided they were more use as part of a chair!.....256 mm underfoot and 153cm long...no thanks, just too much tourqe...

the offset is due to the mounting instructions printed on the ski...they are ofset to one side to get better edge grip on hardpack...they will be remounted center with some apropriate bindings.....the leash instructions are also printed on the ski!

That pic really rubs it in. Not only does it say "check out my new fatty boards" but there's a subtle "and look at the mountain I get to ride them on". Jerk

Pay no attention to that little hill. The good shit is on the other side of the valley.

it's the same thing as the fischer soma boots. the idea being that you're going to use a very two-foot to ski these things cause the waist is so wide. now, stand with your legs more further than shoulder-width apart and do a squat with your feet pointing forward and with your feet pointing slightly outward. you'll see that the slightly outward is more comfortable.

Sorry tried them out on this mountain instead

They are a bit strange, the offset binding mounting has to go, too wierd on hardpack and when side steping....they are very straight, even compared to explosives!.....a bit of a handfull in bumps avoiding gapers...like this

Nice skis! I wouldn't mind some Spatulas (how many were made? 300 or more?) but I have some Atomic Deep Powder bad boys to play with too Mine are also mounted asymetrically which is really weird considering I think mntlion got them from CMH, and why on earth would those guys care about edging on groomed stuff?

having just pulled the binders, the origional mounting pattern printed on the ski (for atomic binders) is offset!....I guess they thought they would peform better this way...also not many places would have wide jigs, so provide jig free mounting printed on the ski for their own binders

I want some skis with reverse camber, it makes perfect sense to me, revers side cut I don't know is nessisary but reverse camber keeps you up on top
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care
