have been buzzing by outside my office window this morning.
Anyone taken a ride in one or a similar jet? Looks like a fun time if you can hold yer cookies.
In other news, I-5 is a parking lot.

Any Seattle mags have advice on the best spots to catch the Saturday airshow from?
On a yacht tied up to the logboom whilst sucking down cold ones, unless the weather sucks, of course.
Back in the days of Almost Live! Seafair was actually fun, it was our version of NASCAR, sun, water, drinks and 100,000 people made for a good time. A few years of bad weather, raised entrance fees, changes in drinking laws, and classic Seattle apathy nearly killed it in the recent past.
A boat on Lake WA, just north of the I-90 floating bridge. It puts you right under the 'show line' approach for the solo aircraft; they'll blast in and out above you at about 100 feet or so. Pretty low for sure!!!
Beware though it is mad city. Lots of other people have the same idea. Some are drunk.
Dude, everyone knows that the Blue Angels were activated by Bush, and are fighting in Iraq!
It's got more paprika.
activated.......lol
If you can't get a boat, a friend's house with a view of the lake it almost better. No crowds, no drunk boaters hitting your boat and a quick drive home afterwards for those who work on Monday
the entire show is basically right over my house so i can just sit in my yard. but i second the north of floating bridge on yacht, would be super prime
In fact, you can see my 9.2g turn here.

I remember it like it was yesterday, that was so freakin' cool. You really can't move anything when you're in the turn, it took everything I had to not black out. I can remember everything getting very dark, taking my one breath during the turn (you can hear the pilots, and see the plane shake when he does it) - and then coming out of it. It took me a minute to take a deep breath and realize it was over.

Knife-edge pass (this was brutal, hanging there at 600mph, 1k off the deck)

Suffice to say, if you get the chance to take the ride, go for it. We were up for an hour, and it was very cool. I've even got my Thunderbird Media patch on my desk at work.
I'll leave you with this:
Takeoff was amazing, the ride was great, but by far, after an hour in the air, my favorite part of the flight was landing...![]()
Wow....looks impressive. I wonder if I could have held it together during the 9.2.
about time steve! Cool videos!
Anyone know what the planes are that preceed the F-18s? They're practicing the show now and there were 4 single vertical tail section planes - I'm guessing the B-team? Now the C-130 is flying around and the F-18s are up next, but can't figure out what the planes are that were just buzzing around. Anyone have ideas?

The plane's are L-39 trainers, and they're the Patriots Jet Demonstration Team. See http://www.airshowsamerica.com/L39.htm for more info...
Thanks! That's them.

No, but I work with this guy, who has a sister, who has these two lesbian friends, who invited my co-worker to the boat last week, and they had some craziness, and then there is this parade of lights, and they invited him back again, and he is all like, oh man, and I was like what??? and he was like oh man... and I was like what????
It's got more paprika.
