Close your tags - anyone got a primer?

I saw this and was reminded that I'd love for someone to post a brief how-to on using various formatting options here on TGR. I know that it turns SAC into a hyperlink automatically, I know you can embed youtube videos with the bracketed command youtube and the number of the video. I know a few others as well. Someone care to publish a concise list we can all stick to.

This image sort of fits. Of course we use square brackets [] instead of greater than / less than signs <>, but you get the idea. Remember to close your tags.

You can get fancy too, and use images as links:
