Unhappy Fired another employee. Never gets easy

Don't even like this one, she did a crappy job the whole 90 days she was here, still doesn't make it any easier. She is a single mom supporting a kid, and I fired her before 90 days so that my unemployment rate wouldn't go up. I.e. she is not able to get unemployment.

So, I very well just put a family out on the street.

Ahh shit, she is in there sobbing uncontrollably. Better get an employee to walk her out of the building. Yeah, I'm a real humanitarian.

You gotta quit blaming yourself, man. It's not your fault she did a shitty job. What else are you supposed to do?

ar clerk. Never picked up on the basics of her job, someone way more qualified came along so I cut my losses.

--don't blame myself. But something in me really really hates this, hell I feel responsible for everyone that walks in my door.

I own a cattle branding company, we are trying to expand into household pets, gerbils, birds, that kind of thing. a brand is a hell of a lot better than tags that can get lost.

People say it is cruel, and if you like it so much do it to yourself. So I did, and it's really not that bad.

I suppose you need to get the really small brands made in Japan, they're good at all that miniaturization stuff.

It is never easy giving someone the boot but the reality of it is that if they are not carrying there own then it is your arse that is on the line for their failures. They are failing themselves!!

Reading this reminds me of my old boss. It's unfortunate we haven't seen each other in public since then...

    What??????

Frozen, just quit hiring people you will have to fire.

Just throwing in some bad humor, sorry.

I know it has to be a tough place to be in, but you have to look out for yourself/company too. You would be doing not only yourself a disservice but her as well. Maybe now she finally got it that she has to do a better job and may be a super success in a few years.

    Ya never know.

    MD9=freak

I kept waiting for something funny to happen, and it never did. Then it dawned on me that MD9 is laughing his ass off at me for watching it the whole way through. Damn you.

Don't be codependent for everything. Think back to situations where you may have blamed yourself for something for which you're not responsible. Don't do it again.

Prioritize your responsibilities. You have a reponsibility to yourself, your wife and your kids. Don't double bind yourself for responsibility for the world. Some people just don't warrant your honor.

Nah, I took it well. Actually laughed at the meeting. It was funny to me. Firing bosses is a good concept. I've seen a few who had numerous (6-10) documented complaints against them and the company would just move the employees. Then the cycle would start all over. It's always the employees fault.

I realize that has nothing to do with your case today. You did what you had to do. 90 days is plenty to learn a job, or have a good idea if this person will meet your needs. I would bet it's a tough thing to do.
