    Wanted: SRAM rear shifter

    Anyone have an extra SRAM pushbutton-type rear shifter, 9-spd?

    Mrs. C. somehow broke the right shifter in a crash this weekend. It's an X9, but anything compatible (X7, others?) would be fine.

    Quick search on Price Point -- what's the difference between the shifters for X0, X9, X7, and SX5? (i.e. how high up the SRAM levels do you need to go to get something decent, like Shimano LX, but not XTR-bling $$$)

    X7 = LX

    X0 has little adjustments for the position of the levers.

    I disagree. Even last year, I'd say X7 = XT mostly because X0 is so far beyond anything Shimano makes, blingly speaking. Now that the '07 X7s are essentially '06 X9s that's probably more the case.

    However, it seems the Shadow seemingly throws a wrench in that whole comparo, or so it would seem.
    Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    I'd go with ^^^^^. I forgot about the X9 becoming the X7s. All my stuff is either '05 or '06.

    if you are going to spend the money, it is worth getting the 07 x9 not the 06 x9. last year x9~x7. this year x9~x0 minus some carbon.

    the new x9 will not break in a crash, like the old x9 and the current x7 b.c of that stupid plastic indicator/clamp crap.

    [hijack] I'm looking for an 8 speed sram rear shifter so that I can get rid of the grip shift. Anyone have anything? Needs to be sram 1:1 ratio - x7, x9, etc. [end/hijack]

    So if I'm only forking out the $ for an X7, does it matter if it's '06 or '07 X7?

    Thanks marshal--

    hmmm, wonder if I can talk Mrs. C. into going with grip shift instead of pushbuttons... less likely for her to break them.
