Higgens Beach is a decent beach break in Cape Elizabeth. Steep, sandy.

If there is swell, there is a point in Cape Elizabeth called Doc's just east of Higgen's. Rarely breaks.

Basically, the best stuff is about 30 minutes south.

Low Tide - Ogunquit Rivermouth is a killer right hand sand point off the rocks at the.. rivermouth. Works with any small to head high plus south swell (usual summer stuff)

Just north is Moody Beach. Mid to high tide. Peaky, punchy (for Maine) beach break.

Moody Point (north end) is great if you get a solid swell (Hurricane or Nor'Easter) - charts do not look good for this.

Beyound that in the cove is Firehouse - in front of the.... firehouse. Low Tide reef break about 400 yards out. Rare.

Keep heading north. A series of fickle reefs, then you get to Wells Beach. Uncrowded, spread out beach. Reefs to the south, a jetty 3/4 mile to the north. Nice variety. All tides. Consistent.

On the north side of the jetty, and harbor, is Drakes Island. Beach break and cobblestone reefs. Tends to be smaller than else where.

Outside jetties is an awesome big wave break for low tide. Sometimes the sand bar builds up, so you just need a small swell and super low tide. Hollow. Illegal.

There is more stuff north, but smaller, less consistent etc. K-bunk is south facing so is good with north winds. Actually prefers an East sweel over a south, due to islands, reefs etc.

Tidal swings in Maine can be over 15 feet. So check the tide books. I believe high tide is at 5pm on August 5th. Planning on hitting up a beach party and jetty swim with some bros I grew up with. I was told to bring my good liver.

    With 4 posts um no.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Just surfed the north end of Wells Beach, 100 yards from the jetty. Super small, but with old surfing buds and a few beers in the belly. Super fun peaky waves. the waves turned off shore around 5 o"clock. The beach party was starting to really take off - sowe hit the surf.

What a blast - surfing in Maine is always kicks. Especially with old surfing buddies and beers.
