Shit, it's by Modest Mouse. Can't remember the song, but it's the best ski movie music->segment matchup ever.

WRONG, Arty! The answer I was looking for was Oh My God/Gordy Swany.

Runner up: For Whom the Bell Tolls/Sage

    Thumbs up

that is one of my fav segs of all time, a lot because of this song. I may just have to buy the cd!

edit: DINMS, do these guys get to pick what songs they get played to their segs? If I remember correctly in Ski Movie 3 Primer 55 was played during the end of Seth's seg, and they aren't really punk.

He should have at least some say eh? And the dude who desides the songs should make it at least related. That song isn't even that great compared to the rest of the Cd too. Buy it now.

I don't even think that focused was the best seth song/skiing segment. Trouble/Seth in SM3 was one of the best combos ever in my opinion. That song always gets me pumped to ski because of the HUGE hucks that seth throws down in that segment
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Dipstick, "The moon and antartica" is my favorite, the new one is good, along with the "lonesome crowded west."

Seth has said over on the K2 boards that the atheletes have a siginificant say on the songs for their segments. I'd agree that MM isn't punk in the least, or metal either, which seem to be Seth's two biggest music genres.

While at first I was disappointed in the music for that particular seg (Seth usually is the only one not into abstract hippie wierdo bullshit, or wannabe rap), it really grew on me for the almost surfing feel to the song, esp. with all the powder shots. Amazing, and along with the rest of the film it feels very introspective and relaxing, vs. the typical destroy all.

And I agree, the "For whom the bell tolls"/Sage cross was excellent.

Somewhat related - has anybody seen the Disorder series of MTB movies? They're done in conjunction with MSP, and usually feature quite a few songs from MSPs ski flick. Last year's movie paired the Cypress Hill song with this little kid biking a mechanical wheel, and while what he was doing was pretty neat, it felt wrong and didn't meet up with Seth's agression at all. Kind of distracting, really.
