Nice looking wave, the park in Gunny is still a little blown out unless you have a super fast boat.

Loops were too easy with a paddle? I’m truly impressed. Also, what kind of boat are you in?

thanks. that is the Jackson All Star. if anyone comes to paddle here my office is right on the whitewater park just upstream of the coffee shop. stop by. I would hate for someone to have unsupervised fun.

Damnit... I need to outfit my playboat better. Last time I attempted a loop, I dislocated my knee cap.

How's the hole up there right now? Still at a decent level or on the low side of things?

Very nice Mike. Watching that makes me want to get good at playboating. If only I live 2 blocks from the Salida PP like by brother.

both holes are still fun...but not like the video (1700cfs vs. 700cfs). cartwheels both ways and loopy tricks but you have to offer your bow to the hole politely. the flows will not change now until August 15 (unless there are big rains) so you can still have fun here for a few more weeks.

Harv, do you know what flows will be after August 26th? I'm going to be at school in the springs and I'm wondering if I'm gonna be making salida trips often or not.

flows typically drop to somewhere between 250cfs (minimum flow for the upper ark) and 500cfs (minimum flow for having fun in the whitewater park). You just have to watch the gauges. If we get rain or if the BOR is moving water it will come up otherwise the season is more or less over after 8/15. The spots in BV work lower but still pretty mellow (spins, low angle ends, etc.).

Pueblo is also worth watching if you are in the Springs. I think anything over 400cfs is fun in Pueblo. here is some surfing from Pueblo at higher flows.
