Go to eBay and find a pair of Salomon 997 Equipes or S900's with a 14 DIN. Can probably be done for <$50.

This is a good idea. I'm 210lbs and have a pair of S900's with 6-14DIN and metal heel. I prefer the feel over a pair of Look P12 (pivot heal, plastic). I'm trying to find more to hoard for future skis.
