    Poop

if anyone's looking to ride keystone from friday-sun let me know. after losing my cherry to their dirt last week, Im stoked.

Pardon my deep thoughts and ramble but, after the dropout on my fork decided to take a dump I figured pursuing a rental from the resort might be choice,

    hmmm.

How do those monkey suits at Keystone justify 95 bills for a full day rental. Their big hits will get you down the hill and the mechanics workin the shop are good chaps; but christ on cross! is there a cheaper deal around town!?
If your the "Sausage King of Chicago" Peter Vanderbilt that scoops into that crap for a gnarly blue-run, I can relate, but I wont.

    I degress...

if you find yourself with a busted ride and dusty wallet wheres the salvation?

are there any mags in the keystone area that know of a local shop that rents a decent ride at a decent deal?

please, if you work in the rental shop at keystone. pm me.

    Ill leave you with this.

Don't know about the mountain, or Fort Collins, but Boulder Bikesmith rents bikes. 90 bucks for three days for a Haro X2.

Full Cycle rents, too, but I'm not sure how much or what for... I suppose its worth a phone call. Gravity at Copper Mtn. hooked up my girlfriend this weekend with a two day rental for 35 bucks... I don't think thats standard, but you could always check it out... they told us they didn't care where we took the bike, just as long as we brought it back, so you could always run it up to Keystone. They were running Giants, if that helps your decision at all...

They justify charging so much for a rental because they are renting $2-4000 bikes and riding at a downhill park will devalue a bike by a large margin, the amount of stuff you can screw up with one fall is enormous. Bent rim-$35, bendt R/D hanger-$15, buggered R/D $70, bent rotors-$35 each.

If they have to spend an hour or more working on the bike when you bring it back, they cannot make money if they rent it for $35, plus everytime someone who is not experienced rides at a downhill part they break stuff on the bike as noted above.

$100 a day is still a lot cheaper than a $3500 bike cost. I'm no math genius, but it seems that buying a new bike costs you 35 times more. 35 times. That's a lot.
