Oh, and regarding the Mormons here in Utah...

I've lived in Logan since 1998. I'm a drinking, swearing, God-damning atheist. Most of my business partners and colleagues are Mormon. I can't speak about "Mormons" as a group (as they are as diverse and variable as any large group of people) but the Mormons I know are good, honest, fun, caring people that share many of the same values as me and my family. I drink hard liquor, mock Jebus, and swear like a pirate with herpes often all at the same time and while at work.

Although I think they pity me, knowing the special torment that I'm sure to endure in the endless fires of hell, they cheerfully endure my heathenism. I trust these people with my business interests, with my money and with my life, if it ever came down to that.

So, to anyone that condemns Logan Utah because of the Mormons, I say "suck a dick" because the Mormons are too nice to say it themselves.

And here's what tree-skiing at Beaver looks like:

Drop me a line when you get to town: rsedmo AT comcast DOT net.
Nice 2P. I did not have the addy to these photos. Cool to see all the pics.

Tromano, as you can see like I said, Beaver will be good to get your powder legs and the backside is fun. Much better on skis than a board. You can go down a long way and then skate out on the spring road. I always had to boot it out. Still worth it, but I held up 2P. Eh, I always held up 2P, he is fast.

The dude in the yellow coat and snowboard is me in some of the pics, like Tony Grove and Beaver.

I mentioned culture shock as just a bit of a heads up. I lived, worked and hung out with lots of people of all faiths. Disregard religion, just enjoy. Hook up with your coworker, Toby Weed, Logan's Avie forcaster and he can show you a ton of BC too.

As you can see, you are coming to a wicked fun playground.

Another East Coaster moving out to SLC Aug 1st. I can't wait! Regardless of religion I think I'd rather live around mormon culture than the Boston muscle headed shit talking hot headed abercrombie eagle douchebag culture that is here.

Every time I'm asked where I'm moving I get that stupid question "Are you going to be a mormon" No, I'm going to be a polygamist you fucking jong.

Good luck with the move and enjoy the drive!

what?! why you gotta be talking about the bad shots. Send the man to the good ones for christ sake!

If you want some help meeting some outdoor heads up that way let me know, although most of the ones i know are/have moved.

The mormon thing...that is what makes Logan such a great place to live. Friendly people, clean neighborhoods, low crime. I miss living there!

One thing...find a place to live on the Boulevard. Best spot in town! Close to downtown, university, trails, and its relatively close to the mouth of the canyon with great views.

I wouldn't know though, i only lived there for almost 7 years.
There's a world out there full of color, dreams, and imagination. What are you waiting for?

Dom, I hear ya loud and clear.

When I was living in DC and announced at work that I was moving to SLC, the amount of stupid bullshit I heard was amazing. Even though I would vacation to Utah every year for skiing and they all KNEW that, when I said I was moving it's like everyone's IQ dropped 50 points.

"Are you gonna be a Mormon?"
    "Isn't Utah a dry state"
"Is Scot (my husband) gonna get some more wives?"

Stupid fucks. Have fun in your crowded, humid, expensive, traffic-choked pit of hell. I'm outta here.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever....

I'd like to come up there and ski again. Would be fun to sled into Cherry Peak area and just shred all those areas for a day or two.

My experience to a T. I think that, at any given time of any given day, someone on the east coast is asking this series of questions of someone who has recently announced a move to Utah.

It's that kind of perception from people from other states (especially back east) that probably have kept property prices reasonable out here....
