    Moving to Logan, UT

The wife and I are moving to Utah later this month. My job will be on Logan. We are looking for accommodations, maybe a house or apartment to rent. What neighborhoods / areas should we look at? Moving from Washington, DC area so we know not much about northern Utah / Logan areas. Thanks!

    STFU you ignorant jackass.

I lived in Bear Lake for a season. Spent a bunch of fun days skiing in the Bear River Range. Fun place.
Twoplanker still lives up there. Stoysluttie left a year or so ago. Nice quiet town.

Wha? It is the truth though. The local LDS chapter will be all over them once they move in. When we first moved into our place up north they were at the house trying to convert us within a day or two.
They got the message one day when they showed up to my door and saw me taking huge bong rip through our picture window. You should have seen their face when I asked them if they wanted to join in on the session we were having.

WTF dude!!!! I havent been here long 10 months total now but not once has anyone tried to convert me. They are good people, I am glad to live with them in this state. In fact I hope they drove you away from here.

Keep smokin that bong and keep amounting to nothing other than a internet troll.

Talked to Buzzworthy. Got the beta on Logan and Beaver Mountain

I am stoked about the move and think it will be awesome. He mentioned culture shock for east coasters coming to the rural Utah. But I don't plan on converting, no way. My philosophy is to forget about all that religious stuff and just go out and have fun and do the things I love to do. Hence moving to utah, so I can do more of what I love which is skiing and doing outdoor stuff with my wife.

You are a fucking idiot troll doucemonger.

Talked with Tromano and I think he will have a lot of fun there. Hell, I lived there for 9 years. Must not be that bad, eh? Sounds like he will have a good time getting his powder legs stretched at the Beav, like I, a fellow ice coaster skier. You make it what you want it to be.

Yeti, yes, Tony Grove is the first place I went "backcountry". Chicken Hill, above the lake. For me it was 1.5+ hours up and a fun downhill. I won't out the fun stuff here, he can call me or the other peeps that know. Trackhead, Stoy, Twoplanker are excellent resources for beta. I tagged along like a bad penny.

Let me know what you end up getting in regards to the new pad and where. I plan to hit the Beav this year at least once with 2P. We always go for his Bday. Remember to get the pass soon, July 13 deadline and then it goes up monthly from there. The office is right by where you will be working.

The Beav' is pretty good too. Compared to Ice Coast mountains, you'll find it plenty steep with some sweet terrain. I skied it the second week of January, when everyone was complaining about conditions and yet, it was the best snow I had ever skied up to that point.

Hey, Wind Caves is a cool little hike that you'll probably enjoy. Just did that this weekend and loved the views.

All i am saying is be prepared for some culture shock dude. Moving from the east coast will definitely open your eyes to one of the most fucked up religions around. Just be sure to let them know you aren't interested from day one and you should be cool.

What was culture shock to me when I moved back east to VT for a few years, was the amount of young people living on trust fund/old money from their familes. I guess most were from Mass or CT.

Hey Scott! Didn't recognize you for a sec. At the moment we are living in Adams Morgan / Columbia Heights. But I grew up in Rockville and Bethesda. Lived here for too long.

Tromano, I didn't meet too many DCSkiers but I met daPig on a trip to Solitude and later, much to my chagrin I met Josh. We're all here now. Be safe with the move!

Go touring directly across from Beaver and ski perfect 1300ft pow shots through big pines. Never anyone over there, ever. Especially now that Stoy and I have left.

I agree here..I havent been here long, just about 4 months, but not once has anyone so much as knocked on my door....at least not trying to convert me...frigging door to door salesmen...those i've had a few of.

They are very nice people, and EASY to get along with..

Welcome to the area...and good luck with the new job.

Welcome to Utah. Don't mind the arguing about the local culture....you'll hear enough about it once you're here. Just live and let live.

You and your wife are always welcome to come hang with us in SLC if you're ever down this way. I guess there's a few tolerable Utards on this board, even if they are from the East Coast.

Like Trackhead said, I live in Logan. It's a great place to live. You can see some of the pictures I've taken of skiing and hiking around Cache Valley at the link below:
