Massive Car bomb diffused in London

Looks like they're at it again.....

    from Yahoo....

Car Bomb Terror Scare In London
By Sky News SkyNews - 31 minutes agoA "massive" explosive device found in a car in central London has been defused, Sky sources say.

It is believed that a major terrorist attack in the heart of the capital has been thwarted.

Police were called to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in The Haymarket area shortly before 2am this morning.

The area was cordoned off by police who examined the car.

They discovered what appeared to be a potentially explosive device, which was then made safe by specialist teams.

It is believed that the vehicle was a silver Mercedes which contained gas canisters.

The Haymarket is in the heart of London's theatreland and close to the popular shopping area of Regent Street.

Eyewitnesses say a man in the suspect car was driving erratically and then crashed into bins near a nightclub called Tiger Tiger.

He then fled the scene and then bouncers nearby raised the alarm.

An investigation has been launched by the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command.

Sources say the perpetrators were not Irish, suggesting Islamic extremists were behind the potential attack, outside an American Express foreign exchange.

Sky's Tim Marshall said: "No doubt this was an attempted terror attack."

He said the target was probably civilians because there are no major political institutions in the area.

Authorities are warning of major traffic disruption in the area, with several roads shut along with Piccadilly Tube station.

    More follows...

You know, I walked past that Tiger Tiger at 3am the previous morning, and thought to myself - why would you go all the way to central London for a Tiger Tiger? Christ, they have them in Croydon and Newcastle. Then, having just walked past this Tiger Tiger I got offered both skunk and charlie. Nice part of the world, Haymarket.

Way too vague to call a teorrist threat yet - guy could've just been going camping!

Have you not noticed the women in Croydon have hands coming out of their foreheads and stuff like that? That's reason enough don't you think?

You must be thinking of the wrong place, Hayduke - that sounds a lot more like those inbreeds north of the River.

So you're saying chicks from Croydon are hot? Get yourself to Specsavers young man. Can't you see she has 3 eyes?

    Croydon facelift

In English slang, a Croydon facelift (sometimes Council facelift, Scrawped) is a particular hairstyle worn by young women. The hair is pulled back tight and tied in a bun or ponytail at the back. The supposed result is that the skin of the forehead and face are pulled up and back, producing the effects of a facelift. Traction alopecia can result from this hairstyle.[citation needed]

This hairstyle is particularly fashionable among certain young women in England, and is portrayed in the media as belonging to young women from the lower social classes, particularly the so-called chav culture of which Croydon is it's capital.

This is what the women look like North of the river.....

    Weird story.
The driver crashed the car in front of a night club ? What kind of a terrorist is that ? Binge drinking, djihadi style ?
    Really strange, wait and see.

We've moved on from that Philippe. We're now discussing the aesthetic qualities of the women north and south of the river.

I'm glad someone also took notice of that...

I mean, if a "reasonable" terrorist was about to expode a huge car-bomb, he'd most likely want to draw as little attention as possible... Not really smart to crash and burn and draw the attention on bouncers and all.

The sceptic in me says, that UK's new prime minister has been takin' lessons from Dubya and is trying to solidify his position with boogiemen.

Ok, it was a Thursday night. That's nearly the end of the working week so it's perfectly reasonable that this guy had had a few jars first.

    Edg, a bit of background

Jade Goody was born in 1981 in Bermondsey, London. Her parents had an on-off relationship and had split for good by the time Goody was a toddler. Interviews with some of her high school classmates have revealed accusations of bullying when Goody was younger, with Goody expelled from Bacon's College, Rotherhithe, after biting part of the ear off one of her fellow classmates. Goody worked as a dental nurse before coming to public attention in 2002 when she was a contestant in the third series of the UK version of Big Brother.

Even with your 1 good eye, I'm sure you can notice that Bermondsey is in fact, south of the river.

The pride of Croydon. (Edit: So Edg beat me to it, but my picture shows her with more style...and that's now proving quite difficult to do.)

What qualities did the guy have - or not have - in order to allow eye witness reports to be so confident he wasn't a mick?

It's a well known fact the swerage pumped from North has a radioactive polluting affect on the genepools of riverside South. Thus, the disownership of Lambeth, Southwark, Greenwich and Bexley. Wandsworth, Lambeth and Richmond will remain south (despite protests from some) due to the weak affect the radioactivity of the river in their areas.

Former flying squad guy says it has the "hall marks" of a suicide bombing. Last minute jitters may explain the crash and running away.

So, not being from the U.K., I was wondering if you could tell where these are from:

Edit- BTW, the above is probably why you guys have terrorists trying to bomb you.

And everybody knows that if a terrorist is drunk driving in London w/ large explosives then he's Irish NOT some kind of Jihadist. Sounds to me like the IRA is back at it.

the thing with a lot of these terrorists is that they aren't too bright viz. the shoebomber, the 21/7 bombers. This guy was probably much the same. He messed it up and then bolted.
