    NEW BC.COM WEBSITE

    www.gearEngine.com

Surfing around the net I ran into this website. Check it out. It has to be affiliated with BC.com because SAC is advertised.

    Way to go BC!

Well, Fiji was beautiful and hot as hell. I am currently on the North Island of New Zealand traveling around with some kids. I am heading to Queenstown to sus out our trips down there and meet the heli company we work with tomorrow. Should be fun since the winter festival is goin down and I will get some ski time in. Hope all is well in SLC!

So, from the product that's listed on gearengine.com right now, it looks like another Steep and Cheap, but for used gear? Interesting... hopefully they have some good shit on there for really good prices, otherwise I'd rather look on Craigslist.

    Shipping looks cheaper too.
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

The things you find on the net.

I'm not sure how directly affiliated with the BC website it is. The address for all the backcountry.com sites is:
    Backcountry.com, Inc.
    2210 S US Hwy 40 Suite C
    Heber, Utah 84032
    US

    while this website is:
    GearTrade Inc.
    3 Claimjumper Court
    Park City, UT 84060
    US

not to mention it just cycles through items on gearengine.com, the items listed aren't even deals per-say, because even after the time expires you can still purchase the item for the same price on gearengine.com.

You're never going to get your reg date and your post count to match the real iceman's (iceman spelled with a real "i' that is,) and you certainly don't have his flava, so why impersonate the great?

    The Lowdown on Gearengine.com

Sorry about the metal art picture for a paddle. This was a test item I forgot to remove from the site. It's gone now.

It looks like someone leaked and the word is out. We wanted a few more days to get things together......but that's how it goes.

I'm the "official" site manager for Gearengine.com, eventhough "skinurse" holds this title on our forum. I noticed this bug last night and my engineer should have this fixed shortly. Sorry bout that.

This is the only mention of Gearengine directly (please don't accuse me for spam as I just want to clarify the site)

Gearengine.com is a marketplace modeled after steepandcheap.com and craigslist.

So, anyone can SELL or BUY gear.

The purpose of Gearengine.com is two-fold.
    1. Sell your gear instantly.
    2. Finds deals on great gear.

Gearengine.com is a place to sell your gear instantly. I know everyone who is active in this forum has ridiculous amounts of gear. I know if you want new gear, deals go fast, so you need to liquidate your old gear even faster.

New listings get placed in a que and are first to be featured on the homepage. So, your gear is not lost in a pile of listings. Everyone has a chance to showcase their gear in the front window.

I know everyone has a ton of questions, and I will answer them all.

HOWEVER, I CANNOT BE ACTIVE ON THIS FORUM. I WISH I COULD, BUT MY TIME IS STRETCHED THIN. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, YOU CAN POST THEM IN THE GEARENGINE FORUM: http://www.gearengine.com/gearchat/index.php

    Thanks for understanding,
    Rob

also, this is not a bc.com website. it is owned by the owners of bc.com, but not directly affiliated.
