    May 12 Mount Washington TR

From May 12, unfortunately the photos got stranded on a computer in Boston until now. Went up to the Great Gulf to get some last turns, up the Jewell Trail and down via Monroe Brook, was able to ski to about a mile from the parking lot. Good day, learned to remember to apply sunscreen to my arms after taking off a long-sleeve shirt--painful lesson. There were three other people skiing Airplane Chute that day, one a maggot from whom I'd bought a GS suit earlier in the year (but we didn't realize we knew each other until after the fact). Great day, excellent conditions, spent 15-20 minutes on the way to Monroe Brook virtually stranded in small pines, scrub, and snow that I kept punching through up to my hip, but aside from that a lot of fun.

Bretton Woods seen from partway up the Jewell

Monroe Brook (the day's ski out) from partway up

Lakes of the Clouds (on the way from Great Gulf)

    Warning sign on the way

    Warning sign, warning sign,
I see it but I pay it no mind.
Hear my voice, hear my voice,
It's saying something and I hope you're concentrating
I've got money now, I've got money now,
    C'mon baby, c'mon baby.

The ski out on Monroe Brook (before it got really tight)

    Can't ski any further

    The brook itself

Two shots of Cannon Mountain (for iceman)

    Trey bien.

On May 12th, I biked from Wildwood, NJ to Bethany Beach, DE. My bike lock broke on the ferry from Cape May. The key broke off into the lock. The ferry crew were very helpful. Something about them having to load up the ferry and turn around... evidently ferries have short turnaround times.

Cool stoke on a hot summer night. Better late than never.

Bummer I didn't make it to Tucks/Mt. Washington this year...

    Thanks a lot.

Did your surf off cape out there? The chicken shoals kill it!
You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?

Sorry to hear you got to enjoy that too. I made the mistake of trying to get to the (skier's) left side of MB, and didn't know that the first snowfield ran continuously down. It really sucked.

And I thought it was hot on that day.

I thought I made clear I only hated people from New Hampshire. Prejudice is a terrible thing.

In March, police in Ann Arbor, Mich., were called to the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at the University of Michigan after a female trespasser entered during the dinner hour and ignored repeated attempts to get her to leave (even though she merely sat down, removed her clothes and masturbated). Fraternity members said later they would throw out the two sofas she touched.
