    Jamie Pierre... nut!

Just left Engelberg where I saw the cliff Jamie Pierre hucked last week. It measured out at 52 meters (that's 169 feet...)
Oskar Enander took pics and they are pretty, um, stunning. Apparently JP backslapped (what else is new, but then again until somebody goes and sticks it cleaner, what do I have to say?) and missed a rock with his head by cm's (that's inches/2.54) yet still managed to be unharmed.

    That is all.

I just talked to Jamie a few days back and will see him later this week; he said that trip was amazing - he also got engaged while over there - and that the pix and footage are unreal! Should be interesting...

I'd never bash that kids skiing. He's nuts and lays it all on the line. Serious respect.

His crazy religious ramblings on the other hand.

I just saw a couple of the shots, and it's fucking huge.

On the backslap thing, according to Jeff Holden, you can't hit anything that big and not hip it or backslap.

    Definitely not bashing, just curious.

Pierre is on my a-list, he's out there to push it, not just ride the wave, but try to crush it.

Like to see the footy, newly engaged GF must have been thrilled.
She should get some Life insurance on that boy pronto!

Oy!! I watch Morrison, Pierre, etc. and just wonder how many hits like that does one human body have in it. I hit my limit about 10 dislocations ago. Old bodies suck!!!!!!!!

That's right, they went and checked it out several times, but never attempted it; it's actually 240', and in the BC outside Grand Targhee.

Someone dropped a 60m (~180ft) climbing rope off the top of it, and it didn't reach the tops of the trees below, which are about 60 feet tall, which is where the 240' number comes from.

He told me last Thursday that he's still planning an attempt at the world record, and I'll pass on the info as soon as I hear anymore about it...

Jamie Pierre is a sick, sick skier... but i wish he'd be more careful. Landing that close to a rock off a cliff that big is, literally, coming very close to death. How long before there is a miscalculation? It would be such a shame to see such a sick skier lose his life.

  23. #23
Yeah i agree. He's an awesome skier, but sometimes maybe a little too ballsy and risky. I'd hate for him to die.
