As much as I obviously love the small areas in MT, it seems clear that the main summit should be at Bridger and Big Sky/Moonlight, especially the latter. Plus, there is plenty of touring in the area. Condos and other lodging can be had for pretty reasonable prices, too.

That contest at Bridger sounds like a good weekend, too. Maybe we could do it the week leading up to that, and that weekend?

I would love to ski with people driving from the west at Lost Trail and/or Snowbowl on the way, too.

    Talking

How about we just pick one place and just stay there. This having to trip around for 10 days is nutty. I would rather us just pick a place and stay there for a week.

    I vote for either

In March, Israel recalled Tsuriel Raphael, its ambassador to El Salvador, after he was found tied up, drunk and naked in the front yard of his residence, with several sadomasochistic sex toys nearby.

I'm for Big Sky/Moonlight or Discovery. Discovery can be really cool because nobody is there mid week and maggots could rule the entire mountain (especially the double blacks on the back bowl). But, needless to say, Lone Peak got some sweet shit goin on for sure.

I put a vote in for Tahoe; keep in mind that I haven't been to any of the previous summits and my opinion probably doesn't count as much as some of the other longstanding members pushing for Montucky, but... Seeing what's going down up there right now makes me think that the area could use a maggot invasion. Some money spent on hookers & blow (and local businesses in South Lake) would definitely help out the area that's going to suffer from the shitty tourist season they are probably going to have this summer.

    Just my $0.02.

Edit to add: Imagine the picture quality we'll see in the TRs if we get some of the better photogs to come out and hike with us to the areas affected. Those shots are going to be unreal-looking, I don't know if that's good, but they'll definitely be different.

So frustrating to read this thread -
A: reading comprehension is nil. Whistler? Tahoe? Utah? These have been done, and done well - read upthread for the list of where maggots have pillaged.
B: Steve, great intentions aside, it's waaaay too early to plan such a thing. This will begin a long list of threads that start with Where and then become When. And, the Where threads can multiply endlessly.
C: Pay attention to history. Summits that are most successful are those that take place in ONE place, not the movable feast ones.

Having said all the above, I am thinking about stepping up and planning a Mammoth Summit. Not a Mini, but a Maxi. Too many people pm me about doing it, and so many tell me they've never been to Mammoth, and those who visit only for the Mini's say that their dream is to visit mid-winter, to experience Mammoth in all it's glory, in full operation.

Hell, with 60+ showing for the Mammoth Mini's, I can only imagine the turnout if it was a real Summit with an 18 foot base (thinking early March).

I'd totally be into that because then I could visit a certain SkiBrain - still trying to figure out if we are really blood related....questionable - who is in Davis and we could road trip down together.....as long as Gordy doesn't do his Whistler ski camp at that time.

No because those are at the end of the season, when most of the mountain is shut down.

This thread has taken a turn for the better with discussion of Yoga's panties.

And Mammoth would be a great place for a Summit.
