As someone on epic pointed out, if sales are going so great then why hold the season pass hostage to increase early sales? No early/late season, rumors of groomer-happy owners (wait and see I guess on that) It's not looking like Killington has anything to offer outside of 100$ meals this season.
Still waiting on the loaf to post their prices unless they did and I missed it.
Might hit killington a few times anyway to cross a couple features off my list but I don't see it being worth the added season pass cost to make a commitment to that mountain anytime soon.
With any luck Wachussett (I know..I know but it's 20min away) + Sugarloaf passes would be less $ and would make me happier. Or, just don't buy a pass anywhere, hike a lot more, and go out west twice instead of once...
I didn't contribute much to the discussion but my rant is over anyway.
Wow. that really puts the fuck in fucktarded.
Looks like a squeeze play to force folks to buy before the end of July.
Either they are feeling rich from plenty of sales already and they don't care, or they are bluffing to force the holdouts to go all-in by the deadline.
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
If they juice prices like this now, itll force people next year to buy early for fear of having to pay this price (or higher) if they wait around
Decisions Decisions
...assuming folks return!
if i don't get any vouchers, it's quite possible i won't make it to kilington for the first time in 5 years. there are too many places i prefer to ski - and several of them may be open later that the hill formerly known as the beast of the east.
I rode K for free and had to pay 30 at stowe. The pass prices are almost the same now. I always spent the extra few dollars to ride the better mountain and I suggest that you K pass holders spend the extra money for stowe.
Now the big decision for me. Do I buy a pass to snowbird or brighton or do I try to land a shop job in Utah.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

One word: Gore.
I sincerely hope these fools spend all their money fixing Kmart's infrastructure, go broke, and sell it to someone with a skier's viewpoint.
On the upside, Boyne recently announced a Maine pass good for the Loaf and SR.
quoted from website...
The Maine Pass is a tiered season pass with three levels. The Bronze Maine Pass is $299 and is an all ages pass valid midweek non-holiday. The Silver Maine Pass is $499 and is an all ages pass valid seven days a week with 12 blackout dates on holidays and select Saturdays. The Gold Maine Pass is valid every day of the season and ranges from $399 for seniors to $799 for adults.
Oh, and if any college students are out there...Jay Peak, Burke, and MRG 3-way pass for about $270 this year.
It's either that or Magic for me this year.
Yeah......they haven't sold any passes. I personally know a pretty decent number of passholders, and nobody has bought one yet. POWDR isn't rich, at all. I know you're not skiing Killington this year, but for everyone else, please go read the analysis here:

The price difference between a full pass and the blackout pass makes the full pass extremely unattractive unless you're going to ski on at least 8-10 of those blackout days. I'm going get a blackout pass, and then buy a pretty good number of ~$40 Connecticut Ski Club tickets pre-season with a group of friends from Killington. We'll ski a few of those blackout days at Killington, but ski elsewhere too.
I'm also going to hold off on buying my pass, until the fall, hoping for more positive news out of the new owners. The blackout pass seems to be the smallest ripoff, even at $650. I'll probably ski about 40 days on it, which is $16.25 per day. Even if you only ski 20-30 days on it, and they run the mountain like shit, it's still a pretty good deal.....and Killington's going to be a whole lot less crowded this year, anyway.
If you're planning on skiing less than 15-20 days at Killington and don't have a house there (or rent a house), I would suggest just buying the Connecticut Ski Club, or spreading out your visits to other regional mountains, who are offering a better product at a better price. Killington might be big...but that's about it.
Maine pass for 499$ seems pretty reasonable. Glad they finally came out with some info on SR/sugarloaf pricing.
Probably just pay up the nose the 3-4 random times I end up @ killington this season.
