    NSR - Asiacs Running Shoes

So I bought a pair of Asiacs Cumulus running shoes 1.5 years ago. Just recently I was given a pair of Asiacs Nimbus shoes by a family member who used them for a bit but found out they didn't fit.

What's the better shoe? Which one should I be wearing when i run? The Nimbus is newer and the Cumulus does have a few treadmill miles on them.

You would run faster if you got the negroidiacs.

Hmm. I haven't tried those yet either, but they sound faster than my Caucasiacs. I'll give them a try iceman.

Um, maybe the one that fits better and is more comfortable?

I wear Nike because they happen to fit me the best.

It's Asics!. I can't remember the details but the two shoes are fairly close, I believe both are neutral and one I think has a slightly more curved last (forget which). It depends on which fits and works with your foot best. Try them both on the same track or surface one day and see which seems to feel better to you. That's what it comes down to.
It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy

Nimbus is typically the better shoe....Nimbus retails @ around $120...Cumulus at around $85, if I remember correctly.

edit to add: both are neutral. Nimbus will have a little bit more forgiving fit (that biomorphic deal really is nice) and will feel a little more cush, at the expense of being a little heavier. I believe the Cumulus is derivative of the Nimbus, so the last should be very similar....but I may be wrong.

Really, it all depends on what fits your feet/style the best -- but the Nimbus is a great shoe.

Which should you be wearing when running? If you've actually been running in those Cumulus for the past 1.5 years, you should think about retiring them to cutting the grass. Expect 6 months out of a good pair of running shoes, longer if you don't run much, shorter if you run a lot.

All that aside, fit and comfort are all important, and trump almost everything else unless you have pronation/stride/support issues.

I believe the Nimbus had more forefoot cushioning. I used a pair for xc training in HS... loved em!

Does asics make a motion control shoe? I have been running in brooks beasts and I love them, but I would mind seeing what else is out there.
I resolve PC issues remotely. Need to get rid of all that pr0n you downloaded on your work laptop? Or did you just get a ton of viruses from searching for "geriatic midget sex"? Either way I can fix them. PM Me for maggot prices.

2120 and Foundation both have moderate motion control. Kayano and Evolution a bit more. I may be missing some.

Look for shoes w/ duomax and IGS.

I've done a couple of reviews on Asics and Mizuno stuff. IMHO Mizuno shoes aren't much cop compared to Saucaony, ASICS, Nike or Brookes. They have way too much flex in the mid sole and this ends up damaging your foot.

I'm currently using the ASICS 2120 shoe which the kind people at ASICS gave me last month, it retails for about £85 over here. It has a fiarly big block for almost complete pronation support, the forefoot cushioning leaves a little bit to be desired. Comes in a wide and narrow fit. I've just done a 10 miles run of road, path and moorland with no problems at all - I'd say these shoes are the best I've had.

Going back to the original post. The shoe has got to fit you well, and as others have said, a 1.5 year old trainer is probably too old to be doing your feet any good.

Also need to replace the shoes if you just walked around in them for 1.5 years... most shoes only have about 300-500 miles on them no matter which speed you use them.
