    Ok, do you hate all cities or just Calgary? HAving lived all over Canada I like Calgary but I have a basis for comparison. I have inbred interior BC in laws who on every occassion like to dish Calgary. But they were rude and have self esteem issues ( and lived in Cranhole). Not saying that applies to you so please don't take offense.

    City living is not for everybody but as cities go I think Calgary is pretty good.

    Try rentfaster.ca, it's a good rental site, specific to calgary/edmonton.

    I have a 800ish sq ft 2br apartment for rent in Montgomery. It's not a brand new/renovated downtown condo, but I bet you could buy a light helicopter and fly it downtown to work for the difference in rent from $3500/mo. PM if interested.

Mind you given that you won't get much if any change from $500k to buy one its not that outrageous. Agree though Erlton location wise is spot on. Any good local source for finding places for rent you would recommend ?
    I think the agent is definitely over inflating. $3,500 is insane for 1,300sq ft unless it's a penthouse in Eau Clair or something. There are some pricy townhouse style condos across that probably sell for close to $1M so maybe it was those (directly on the river) but I think they are larger than 1,300. Sorry I can't help you on sources, check those websites though. Good luck.

    So I finally made it to Calgary eh Been here a mth already and ended up in a rental infill in W. Hillhur$$$t for now. With obvious intention of skiing every w/e, holiday etc looking at the different pass options. With LL being a tad further from Calgary thinking the Big 3 pass to cover both LL and Sunshine options would be best but as you know not a cheap option at $1,299 early season price. Is it worth it or just better to get pass for one place and pay on daily basis for the others ?

    Unless going to ski alot alot, one pass and to the other hills cards works. i can remember doing the math and you needed to ski 15 plus to beat a card. Things to figure in , a SSV pass gets you 25% off at KH and Rev. No love for RCR pass as they give no love.

    Adult (18-64) $1,599 The Rocky Mountain Passport offers lift access at 8 incredible resorts; Lake Louise, Sunshine Village, Ski Norquay, Nakiska, Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort, Panorama Mountain Village, and Ski Marmot Basin

    Adult (18-64) $1299 Big three. The pass includes lift access at Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Ski Norquay;

    SSV only = $749

    LL only $829

    Lake Louise, Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort and Nakiska = $999

    Tough call. Personally the last few years I've gone with just the discount cards (Sunshine, RCR, Kicking Horse/Pano) because I like to mix it up between them all. I'd probably be about the same with a Sunshine pass as I go there (more storms) most and it is the closest. I got lucky with friends giving me cards with free days this year so it worked out cheap ($40ish/day average at SSV I think).

    I wouldn't get an RCR pass unless you plan on being in Fernie a lot. I love the terrain at Louise (moreso than SSV) but it just doesn't snow enough unless you can go to every midweek storm.
