    Monitor calibrators???

Since nobody commented that issue here, I tought that mebbe I should start a new thread.

So, as far as I know ColorVision Spyder 2Suite (or Express) seems to be the default thingy.

The other option seems to be Pantone Huey.

Any wise words, the Huey is a few € more than Spyder 2Express and a lot less than the Spyder 2Suite...

Oh, and the thingy would be used both for older CRT-screens and LCD ones.

    TIA.

I've read some mixed reviews on the Huey, but don't have any personal experience.

On the other hand, I do have the Eye-One Display 2 setup, and have been completely happy. I use it to calibrate all the monitors in our lab (5 fixed + 1 laptop), and it has made life much easier. No more cries of the figure is too light, too dark, too green, too red, too whatever. If it looks right on my system, it looks right on every other system in the lab.

Had a Colorvision Spyder (original model, not the 2) before, and it wasn't as good. It wasn't setup for LCD monitor work either, although we came up with a work around.

Both systems are sensitive to ambient light. The Eye-One has a means to measure and account for this, while the Colorvision did not. The Colorvision setup was particularly sensitive to ambient; although that was several years back. Perhaps more recent offerings have improved on this matter.

    Here's some info: http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/m...tion_tools.htm

I use the Monaco Optix Pro. A friend has the X Rite Eye One, http://www.xritephoto.com/product/eye2.asp, and likes it.
