If any of you mags ever want to play Aquatic Park in Berkeley, CA look me up. The wind will screw with all of your approach shots, and it takes a lot of guts to pitch your disc over the water for 95% of its flight on some of the holes. It's mad fun though, and everyone passes the greens

But truth be told, it's because I'm an ultimate player, so a) I'm very good with a regular frisbee, and b) I don't want to mess with my mechanics by learning to throw a real golf disc. I can beat most people using "folf" discs, they may outdrive me but I have all but the good ones beat on approach shots and the bag of tricks shots.

There's a great course in Frisco, CO.
You play for a club team? Which one?
It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

I have actually used a ultimate 175 for a mid-range and putter, since I was an ultimate player way before I started disc golf. but I have started to phase it out and use a "real" putter

Jer why dont you stop being such a bitch and try it. you might actually like it. It does look kinda gay but I played for the first few times this month and its a blast, whats not to like about walking around the woods with friends drinking/smokin and throwing discs around?

having bijou, zephyr, and kirkwood's courses nearby has caused me to not get anything done this summer, but playing a lot of disc golf......is summer almost over yet?

I play ultimate also and use a discraft 175 to play disc golf. I don't think people were trying to be competitive between the two. It seems obvious that the tools made specifically for the trade are going to be better suited for it. But those golf discs seriously screw up your ultimate throws. I am heading up to play the new course at Sugarbush in Vermont this weekend, I hear its pretty sweet

I came to disc golf from a serious ultimate background (played wing for the Braineaters for a season or two), and when I first played I just used an ultimate disc. I would be more concerned about my throwing mechanics getting screwed up if I were still playing competitive ultimate, but I'm not. My driving and putting are still works in progress, but ultimate really gave me a nice mid-range game. I find that I throw my Roc a lot because the way it handles is very 175 Discraft-ish.

We just played the Sugarbush Course, cigars, beers, beautiful weather, good times. We did not use golf discs as mentioned above but found 3 of them. Tough course, we were damn lucky to not lose any discs.

Does the aerobie conform to 'folf' standards? If so, that should be your go-to weapon for long drives.

Just after college a buddy and I drove around the country, hitting national parks and world class roller coasters. Great trip. Anyway we had an aerobie with us, and the goal was to throw it across the grand canyon. When we saw the Grand Canyon we were so dumbstruck by its dimensions that we decided the throw was absolutely impossible and never made the attempt. Zion we might have been able to make it, but we did not bring it up to angels landing...

its fun to keep track and then try to better your score
then it becomes fun to put some money on it
our usual bet is quarter skins & a buck overall for score
ties on holes push and skins build if no one wins...

tournies are a fun semi-competitive excuse to party
prob a lot like a big mtn event or somethin

this was the big one around here, I played on the AM side
