The Seattle area has a few great courses. Near Burien, there is an 18 hole park called Lakewood with some great attributes. I was on a steady DG diet for 2 years, it tapered off and now I am addicted again. I have simply used three discs. Long: Valkyrie, Medium: MDX, Putter: The Old School Rattler.![]()
I use one disc for everything. I really find it funny when I see people walking around with their little disc fanny packs and have like 6 discs. One disc to rule them all!!

Glad to hear of some other frolfers on TGR! My devotion to Frolf just about caused me to flunk out of college and lose my wife (then girlfriend). It ranks somewhere in the range of sex, beer, and coffee in things worth living for - skiing has its own division of course.
Right now I'm in C. Springs - weak sauce for disc golf. Cottonwood is highly vandalized and SUPER busy - there is a private/corporate course, but it can only be played during certain hours to duck security. We typically drive over to Salida or Frisco and a course we created in the national forrest (minus real baskets) with painted tree rings.
Quiver of choice: Polaris for straight drives, Cheetah for left-right or big "oscilators", Leopard for right-left. Mids = mrv and shark Approach/put = soft rhino and classic birdie.
I've been playing alot of disc so far this summer.. Not all of it good rounds but most have been great... been playing this course often http://www.playdg.com/bryantlake/it's nice to carry multiple discs they all have there advantages..
Oh and this:
Playing ulitmate means dick all for how good with a normal disc you are.
The majority of people that play ultimate suck ass at throwing and suck even more ass at throwing at stationary targets.
Which is not to say anything about how you throw.
Note: I'm nothing special at disc golf and can't play ultimate at all.
On another note, you should learn how to throw disc golf discs, they really are far superior and going back and forth isn't hard as long as you do it. Besides, then you could play ultimate games with a driver to spice things up a bit.

Naaahhhhh if everyone uses the sissy ultimate handclap thing there'll be no problems

Hole 4. Downhill to a hidden pin. Tossed the Valkyrie and hear a whelp a few seconds later. I split a dude's dome piece in two pieces with that thing.

A long time ago I was at Ken Karyl and tagged a grandpa right above the eye with an Eagle, it layed him flat out (not unconcious) and put a nice cut there. I knew it was gonna be bad the instant it left my finger and was screaming FORE, both granddaughters knew exactly what was up but granddad never flinched till it tagged him. I still feel bad.

I've been a handler on every team I have played on for the past 20 years, many of those teams good enough to get to the second day of regionals (never was quite a nationals caliber player by any means). That should give you some idea of my ability to throw.
I don't play disc golf often enough to bother to learn how to throw them...
Those are some of the best courses. Or courses that just use the "natural" environment. Some of the best disc golf games I have ever had were on the campus of Ft Lewis College, using buidlings and gateways and lamp posts, etc.

I could play disc golf all day if I figured how to carry around a 4ft bong and a keg with me in my pack...
Just getting into it this summer, my roomates are wicked into it so I always feel like I am just slowing them down but its great fun.
I can whip a frisbee like George W himself but it doesnt transfer at ALL to disc golf, I am living proof of that.
Just started getting into it a few weeks ago. I'm hooked. It's neat how the parks with courses just turn into open air bars.
EDIT: and by neat I mean fucking awesome
I've been playing a lot for the last 4 years. We've got a great private 18 basket course here where there's a league night every tuesday as well as a few other 9-hole basket courses. There's a nice 18 hole basket course in Canmore that's pretty fun too. There's a nice object course that's a 15 min. bike ride from my place as well.
I carry around about 7-8 discs usually. It's nice to have different weights and options.
I usually get out 2 or 3 times a week, used to be a lot more before I had the baby girl though. I'm pretty much near the bottom of the league here but the way it's set up you play against your handicap so my steady improvements have put me in the money a few weeks lately. Some of the guys playing here are pretty incredible.
Is it just me, or does this guy look and sound like Jeremy Nobis's twin brother?
edit...
Seriously...

BTW... if anyone is interested, youtube has a ton of the Discraft clinic videos.
when the wife pursued medskool in non-skicountry I got into the disc golf scene bigtime
we play all year long, in the depths of winter we tape little LEDs or 1" glowsticks to top and play in the dark (find 'em in the fishing aisle w/bobbers)
the glowleague in KC at waterworks park is legendary with an acefund over a grand last time I checked. KC has great golf in beautiful city parks, mostly concrete teepads, and multiple pinplacements per hole so course layouts can change...
florida golf is thick jungle style but the canopy is low so even beginners are throwin thumbers and tomahawks that never get punished with a hillside rollaway cuz its so darn flat... night golf there is nice cuz its cooler and the lites make for easier finds in the palmetto bushes
we're in michigan now, summer league is goin on, 15weeks visiting 3of our 4 local courses, pick your best 12 weeks for the final average. casual rounds we'll usually play for .50 skins to keep it spicy...
Ive played in about 7 tournies so far this year with an "invite only"one comin up this weekend, ulty discs are not allowed in pdga events, and the more you get into it the more you see why...(I can ski anything on my rossi 4s's- yes but why would you want to)
