When I lived in Utah, seems like every year either the first or second week of June there would always be one last rush of winter (with 1-2 feet dropped on Guardsman and just enough- 6" or so- to freak out the tourists in Park City). Was always fun watching the tourists reactions at the hotel.

This shot's great- especially for June!

Today was even better. Got FIRST TRACKS down Baldy Main. All the wankers this morning wouldn't touch it. Fast, DEEP, and stable.

    Ha!

    You people suck.

I had a physical this morning, new doctor.

    "Do you exercise?"
"Yeah, about six months out of the year."
    "Doing what?"
    "Skiing."
"Okay, but anything in the past couple of months?"
    "Yeah, skiing."
    "Really?"
"Yeah. It wasn't as good as last year, when I kept it up until July 4th. Lousy season."
"What do you do the rest of the year?"
"Dream about skiing, talk with my kids about skiing, and watch ski movies."
"You need to find something to do the rest of the year."
"Yeah, I know. Maybe I'll start hiking with the kids."

I didn't clarify that when I said "hiking," I meant "getting an AT setup and hitting Shasta."

    That's sweet, TH.

Is it rock-skis steeze or do you have enough base under there to not care?

Never hit a rock today. Skinned from the car, and skied to the car.

Hey, as one of those wankers, I will note that I was skiing alone, and scared. Plus, I was running late for work and got further sidetracked by the enemy of the dawn patrol - the unexpected coffee-induced deuce.

It's + 90 with 30mph winds kickin up a blizzard of cottonwood fluff and howling wind driven cicadas, outside Chicago today, but after reading this if I shut my eyes i can hear Xovers cackle . Thanks for the wish I was home stoke.

.... how? what'd you do? go alone so you could yank your wanker; that's the only way today would be better than that day last year for you
