    Yeah, it's defnitely nothing innovative as far as images go, but iconic shots are iconic for a reason. That place is unbelievable.

    Hey Griz,

    That first shot of Gibbon river, how do you capture it so the water looks all flowy like that. I've tried a bunch of times to do this and something always looks wrong.

    Boss--
    You just need to do a time exposure. And to do that, you've gotta have a tripod. On this particular shot, the shutter was open for 4 seconds. It's ideal to have a cable release as well, so you don't shake the camera by pressing the shutter button.

    It's definitely one of those things that looks way more advanced than it is. You have to be careful too that you don't blow your highlights in the water--probably the most difficult part of doing a time exposure with water.

    You can also use the self-timer if you don't have a cable-release. Locking the mirror in the up position help on long exposures as well, but really only matters in stuff that's under a second.

    That light is just bonerriffic, especially the slight rosy hues on the far ridge.
